The robes of priests, icons, candles and the whole furnishings in churches are created at several production sites, among which the largest is the art-production enterprise "Sofrino". Not everyone is able to enter the territory of this restricted facility - the more interesting it is to see what is done there and how.

The range of products manufactured in Sofrino is great. Literally everything is done here: they cast candles, paint icons, print books, create church utensils.

In "Sofrino" patriarch, bishop, chandelier, wedding, required, souvenir candles are made. They differ in size and, of course, in purpose. If previously only wax was used for the production of candles, now they are stamped from a mixture of paraffin, ceresin, artificial wax or stearin, and dyes give them a characteristic yellow color.

To create the illusion of a real melting wax during burning, aromas that smell like honey are added to the candle mass.

Such candles are cheaper and easier to manufacture - they can be made in hundreds of thousands, and at the same time mechanically, and not manually.

For this, molding sandy-clay mixtures are used or other technologies are used: injection molding, metal chill casting, investment casting, vacuum and centrifugal vacuum casting. In addition, in other areas, they are engaged in milling, polishing, and assembling the finished product.
