The most impressive is the Geomunoreum gallery, which consists of many caves and passages. It was formed by flows of basaltic lava during a volcanic eruption 300-200 thousand years ago. The volcano is located at an altitude of 456 m, and lava flows flowed down towards the coastline for 13 km, forming tunnels. The passages of the cave are impressive in their size: in some places they reach 30 m in height and 23 m in width, and the cave itself stretches to 8,928 m. This is a real underground city where a person feels like a grain of sand.
