Video: 9 Ton Gate - Megalithic Miracle at Coral Castle, Florida 2024, June

Coral Castle in Florida is a complex of stone structures, with a total weight of about 1,100 tons. Believe it or not, it was built by one person who had only 4 education classes, a height of 152 cm and a weight of 45 kg. Numerous structures in this castle include megaliths weighing up to 30 tons (this is more than the average weight of stones at the famous Stonehenge). In order not to reveal the secrets of construction, Edward Lidskalnin, the only architect of this miracle, carried out all engineering work only at night, without anyone's help. That is why scientists still do not know exactly how one person could build such a structure.

The Coral Castle comprises numerous structures, the heaviest of which is a two-story square tower weighing 243 tons. It was used as workshops on the first floor and living quarters on the second. The complex has

various stone sculptures, including a stone map of Florida, the planets Mars and Saturn (weighing 18 tons), a 23-ton month, a sundial by which you can determine the time with an accuracy of the minute, a huge table in the form of a heart, rocking chairs, fountain and much more. The so-called telescope also weighs about 30 tons, the tube of which reaches a height of 7 meters and is directed to the North Star. The total weight of all buildings is estimated at 1,100 tons.

The most mysterious and surprising element of the complex is the 9-tonne collar, which could easily be rotated with just a finger. The sash size is 2 meters wide, 2.3 meters high, 0.5 meters thick. Unfortunately, by now they have lost their former "ease" of use. But this effect could still be observed from 1936 to 1986.

In 1986 the gate stopped opening. To find out the reason, it took 6 people and a huge construction crane to dismantle them. Let me remind you that Edward Leedskalnin did not use any modern equipment during their construction.

When the sash was removed, they were surprised to find that Lidskalnin had used an axle and bearing from a truck (1918 Ford) to rotate it, as well as a strange round stone at the bottom. The engineers could not understand how all this could withstand a stone of 9 tons of weight, so they sent it for research to the Department of Geology at the University of Florida. And guess what happened a month later?

Experts said they have compared this stone to almost all other types of stones on this planet and even compared it to meteorites, but could not determine its origin.

The engineers still managed to restore the ability to rotate the gate. To do this, it was only required to remove the rust and slightly clean and polish the strange stone. But in 2004, the gates stopped opening again and they decided to leave them alone, because repeated dismantling could damage the entire structure, which by that time had become quite fragile.

During his lifetime, Edward Leedskalnin was asked to reveal the secret of how he was able to build his Coral Castle on his own so quickly, to which he always replied:

The brilliant builder did not share his secrets and took them with him. However, during his life he published 5 brochures, including: "The life of minerals, plants and animals", "Magnetic flux" and "Magnetic base". These works are carefully studied by researchers in the hope that the eccentric architect could leave in them hints of revealing their secrets. But until now, all attempts to repeat the engineering creations of Lidskalnin have not been crowned with success.
