In Adygea, a number of proposals have been developed for the legislative support of measures for the preservation of archaeological heritage sites.

This became known following a meeting of the working group led by the chairman of the profile committee of the State Council-Khase of Adygea on social policy, family affairs, health care and culture Yevgeny Salov. The meeting discussed proposals on ensuring the preservation of archaeological heritage sites, necropolises, burials located within the boundaries of necropolises, works of monumental art, as well as monuments and ensembles located within the boundaries of the landmark.

The meeting was held with the participation of the chairman of the Public Chamber of Adygea Ruslan Ustov, senior prosecutor of the department for supervising the execution of federal legislation of the prosecutor's office of the republic Elena Cherepanova, deputy head of the Department for the protection and use of cultural heritage objects of the RA Oleg Kucherov, head of the legal department of the State Council-Khasa apparatus of the republic Lyudmila Skabala and Chairman of the Republican Branch of the Russian Geographical Society Igor Ogay.

“The members of the working group and the invitees shared their impressions of the work of the offsite meeting, which took place last week, noted that the topic under discussion is of great importance for the preservation of the historical heritage, the development of historical and archaeological tourism. All were unanimous in one thing, that it is necessary to resolve the issues of preserving the Kozhokh dolmens from a legal point of view and within the framework of federal legislation,”the parliamentary staff said.

In this regard, a number of proposals were made, which concerned the unification of the work of all relevant, interested services and departments of the republic in ensuring the safety of archaeological heritage objects, identifying monuments, their official registration and reconstruction, increasing the application of administrative responsibility for the destruction of architectural heritage objects, enhancing educational activities among the population and strengthening the activities of the Public Council under the Office for the Protection and Use of Cultural Heritage Objects of Adygea.

“All proposals received are up-to-date. Recommendations will be developed and sent to the heads of municipalities of the republic, appeals will be prepared to the relevant State Duma committee for legislative support of measures to preserve archaeological heritage sites and to the federal government with a request to develop a federal program aimed at preserving the dolmens of the Western Caucasus,”Yevgeny Salov said.
