The SeverPost correspondent followed the masters of Russian science fiction to Kovdor. How the meeting with the hereditary noyd ended, what the drawing of the runestone in the city park speaks of, and who received the first passports of the citizens of Hyperborea, in the SeverPost report.

While Friday crawled lazily into the city, the bus parked near the Kirov Palace of Culture was full of excitement - journalists and librarians met. Many did not fully believe that science fiction writers of the "major league" would get to the provincial city.

4 hours by bus - and we are in Yeona village. Sleepy journalists and librarians are greeted by the head of the Kovdor region Sergei Somov and absolutely all the declared writers.

This is the author of the famous "Night Watch" Sergei Lukyanenko, his colleagues Oleg Divov, Vadim Panov, Andrey Shcherbak-Zhukov, Anton Pervushin, Vladimir Torin, as well as the editor-in-chief of the Literaturnaya Gazeta, writer and poet Maxim Zamshev.

The choice of authors is not accidental. In their novels, both Hyperborea and Hyperboreans are mentioned, as well as Seydozero - a cult place for all seekers of traces of an ancient civilization.

The choice of location is also not accidental. Many artifacts have been found in the vicinity of Kovdor, which researchers believe are evidence of the existence of an ancient civilization that perished as a result of a planetary cataclysm.

It was here, according to the legend, that the huntsman Vyacheslav Ternov discovered, no less, the entrance to Shambhala.

The country of Hyperborea was mentioned in ancient Greek myths. The name literally translates as "beyond Boreas" that is, the north wind.

According to ancient maps, the country was located on a separate continent or a large island. Four rivers crossed it crosswise.

Wherever they were looking for it! They called different options: Taimyr, Greenland, the Urals, a sunken continent like Atlantis.

Meanwhile, it was in the vicinity of Kovdor that a group of stones was found, exactly resembling several constellations of the Northern Hemisphere, as they were seen 5 thousand years ago. They were found by local search engines. They also found a huge slab standing on the stones, which exactly resembles the one that stands somewhere in Tibet.

The researcher of Hyperborea, writer, director and the first "Miss Arctic" Natalya Kulagina, who recently visited Kovdor, considers such finds to be stone "hard disks" left, according to her hypothesis, by the inhabitants of Hyperborea, who possess unique methods of stone processing and information transmission with their help.

And how many other interesting stone structures in the vicinity of Kovdor! There will be enough work for researchers, scientists, archaeologists, tourists here for a century.

So, if any geologist says about the city of miners that this is the only place in Russia where 200 types of minerals lie on a relatively small plot of land, then any occultist will say that Kovdor is ahead of the rest in terms of the number of artifacts. It was rumored that Adolf Hitler was eager to come here for esotericism.

So it turns out that science fiction writers are the very place to meet in the capital of Hyperborea - Kovdor.

By the way, modern Hyperboreans also have their own tradition. On the longest night of the year, December 22, the people of Kovdor celebrate the Hyperborean New Year. On the holiday, the serpent Kuvvt comes to them.

Science fiction writers beat the tambourine

And so, together with the writers, we go to a hereditary shaman woman, or, speaking in Sami - noidu - Alevtina Sergina, a resident of the village of Yona.

A minute or two, and she performs a ritual for us. However, it does not go to the astral plane. It is impossible to disturb the peace of spirits once again.

From a brief presentation it follows that Alevtina Sergina not only knows how to communicate with spirits. She claims that she saw the Hyperboreans near the ancestral seid - that is, the ancestral stone of the Sami.

Sergina and her family call the seid "Deer Head". It is admitted that she acquired the gift of clairvoyance after clinical death.

Deer antlers hang at the entrance to her chum and this is no accident.

“The Sami were pagans, they believed in deities, and in order to appease them, deer antlers were hung at the entrance to the dwelling - it was believed that this would bring good luck on the hunt. But dried pike heads “promised” good luck on fishing,”says the witch.

And she needs strength - more than once she had to put people on their feet. Once a job for her was found at a summit of shamans from all over the world in Norway. The Kovdor shaman was informed that a man was ill near this place, and they asked her for help.

According to the shaman, since then a person has strengthened in body and spirit, and spends his energy on handicrafts.

Well, we are offered to try the branded "Hyperborean" cuisine with rye fish and local boiled pork, and even local cucumbers that are grown in greenhouses. We drink sea buckthorn tea and solemnly promise that we will return in the summer to look at the ancestral stone and take part in the shamanic ritual around the fire.

After the ceremony and tasting, the writers talked with Alevtina for a long time and tried themselves in playing the tambourine.

The silent witness of time

And again a wonder of the world - a stone with drawings of runes. And it is located in the city park of Kovdor.

More than 20 years ago, Valentina Popova, a Kovdor researcher, head of the ecological club of the Center for Children's Creativity, drew attention to the inconspicuous boulder.

She made out on the surface of the stone an ancient runic inscription - signs and symbols on the body of a snake coiled into a ball.

We have remembered this already in our time. The son of a researcher, a search engine and an employee of the Kovdorsky GOK, Sergei Popov, saw on it Scandinavian, ancient Aryan, and Slavic runes, which from time to time change their pattern.

For a long time, the writers peered at the vague outlines on the stone. Some saw the footprint of a dinosaur paw. Someone is a fish. Someone - something of their own, but this did not leave anyone indifferent.

The gathering of writers ended with the issuance of passports

In the evening, science fiction writers met in the city's Palace of Culture with residents of the city. According to the guests, they were amazed at the incredible capital of this place. They answered a huge number of questions from the northerners, who were interested in everything: do women interfere with their work, can they control their dreams, how do they manage to catch inspiration and others.

At the end of the evening, all the writers received passports of citizens of Hyperborea. The document is certified by the signature of the head of the Kovdor region, Sergei Somov, and by the snake Kuvvt himself, in whose honor the city got its name.

“I think with this passport I got the right to wander around different worlds in my fantasy. And at the same time it is proud to call oneself a citizen of Hyperborea,”Sergei Lukyanenko, father of“Patrols”, will tell SeverPost later.

In the city of miners, where even on the coat of arms there is a symbolic image of the pit walls against the background of snow-covered northern nature, and in the center there is a wind rose and a mineral magnetite, it seems that the snake Kuvvt will soon appear.

In the near future, a park will appear in the city, in which the found artifacts will be collected. As planned by the organizers, the park will house a stone throne, an altar, stones with runes.

It looks like another attraction will appear in the north of Russia - much more exotic than the residence of Father Frost.
