Video: Go-to-RUSSIA. Welcome to Kurgan (part 2) 2024, July

To see the Salbyk Kurgan, the largest in the basin of the Middle Yenisei, which is the highlight of the famous Khakass Valley of the Kings, you need to drive 60-70 km north-west of Abakan. Representatives of the Tagar culture have erected over a hundred burial grounds here, but only a few have a base diameter of over 50 m.

Presumably, the Bolshoi Salbyk Kurgan was a pyramid made of soil with a base of 70x70 meters, but by the time of excavations in 1954 its top was only 11 meters high.

From the stone slabs surrounding the structure, only the highest corner elements were visible, the rest of the fence had to be freed from the ground. Studying the structure and amount of soil, which, by weathering and erosion, has dispersed over the surrounding area, the initial height of the Salbyk mound is determined at least 25 m

Inside the outer pyramid, there was a log-earthen inner pyramid up to 2.5 m high with a base of 18x18 m, all the wood elements of which were wrapped in a multilayer birch bark cocoon.

The small pyramid was the apex of a mysterious log crypt. The ancient builders took care of finishing the burial with a waterproof clay layer, and covering the bottom with the same light birch bark. Of the seven corpses walled up in the mound, the remains of an old man, which occupy a central place in an earthen mausoleum, are of interest. Presumably, the rest of the corpses were lowered through the burial chamber at a later period. A couple more male skeletons were found on the south side of the cell. One of them has a bronze blade; next to the second, the remains of a fur-bearing predatory animal are buried.

Tourists are more shocked by the external grandeur of the Salbyk mound, created from imposing monoliths. The fence of the megalithic complex consists mainly of two-meter slabs, but the corner fragments are even larger and are made up of 50-ton six-meter giants.

Radiocarbon analysis showed that the mound was built around the 5th-6th centuries. BC

Considering that it takes about 70 km to get to some mines, it is difficult to imagine what equipment was used by the people of the Tagar culture 2500 years ago to deliver blocks to the installation site.

The location of the fence stones corresponds to the cardinal points, in addition, they are installed at the intersection of geopathogenic lines. Ordinary Khakass do not seek to understand gravitational fields, but have long noted that being near megaliths contributes to a speedy recovery from ailments. Scientists have not studied the medical effect of menhirs, but energy anomalies and incomprehensible ultrasonic radiation near the mound were recorded several times.
