Representatives of the Aetherius religious society, founded in the 1950s in Great Britain and subsequently opening a branch in the United States, are convinced that spiritual power is tangible energy that, like electricity, can be stored in special “batteries” for later use. According to the members of this cult, they have already prevented several global catastrophes by releasing large reserves of such positive energy into the world.
Society "Aetherius" was founded in 1954 by a simple English taxi driver George King. His followers firmly believe that famous religious figures like Jesus Christ and Buddha Shakyamuni were in fact aliens who wanted to bring peace and harmony to Earth. Members of this ufological sect are trying to spiritually connect with such aliens and ask them to visit us again in order to help humanity enter a "new era".
There are many interesting aspects of the Aetherius society, but the so-called "operational power of prayer" has always attracted the greatest attention of independent researchers and religious leaders. In 1973, George King developed a kind of "battery" that supposedly can be charged with positive spiritual energy and stored until the world needs it. The cult's official website states that learning this process takes many years and requires considerable effort.
It is argued that energy must have a certain quality and not have any negative impurities in it. Members of society are trained to free their minds from negative emotions and send only positive thoughts into this device. "Batteries", they say, are made of special materials and can store unlimited reserves of spiritual energy for an infinitely long time. This, they say, allows you to prevent disasters later or to minimize their consequences.
For example, the "operational power of prayer" was allegedly useful during the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus. Representatives of "Aetherius" assure that when the conflict broke out between Turkey and Greece for control over the Mediterranean island, members of the described religious movement sent powerful streams of positive energy to Cyprus, and the military laid down arms in less than a month. According to the cult members, confronting human aggression is the most difficult task of all existing on Earth.
Another example cited by sectarians is the oil spill from the tanker MV Braer, which crashed on January 5, 1993 near the Scottish island of Mainland. About 85 thousand tons of poisonous liquid poured into the ocean, which killed over 1,500 birds, as well as several animals. Society "Aetherius", according to its own statement, used two "batteries", each of which contained more than 550 hours of prayers, in order to protect other creatures, in particular whales, from environmental disaster, and also to minimize the consequences of this disaster for people.
