I changed and went down to a friend who was sitting in the kitchen to say goodbye. We chatted for a few minutes, and I decided to go up to get my things, as my mother was about to drive up. As soon as I finished packing, the phone rang. It was my mother, but when I answered the call, I did not hear anything in return. I said hello, but my voice sounded very strange. I couldn't understand what she was saying. So I just told her I'd be out in a minute and hung up.
Having said goodbye to my friend, I was already on the street. When I got into the car, the first thing I did was to say that I did not understand a word of what she was trying to tell me on the phone. But my mother just stared at me in surprise.
