In the Italian city of Salento, an unexpected snowfall continues for several days. For residents who saw snow only on TV, this was a complete surprise and made them remember an ancient prophecy that says that a snowfall in Salento will become a sign of the imminent Apocalypse.
The Italian soothsayer Matteo Tafuri (1482 - 1592), predicted that when the streets of sunny Salento were covered with snow and the snowfall lasted two days, this would be the first sign of the beginning of the End of the World. It is worth noting that the prophecy said that in addition to two days of snow, two bright flashes in the sky should occur, but the inhabitants of Salento did not observe any flashes.
Matteo Tafuri: “Salento is a city of southern winds and palm trees. Snow never touched its soil. But when it snows for two days and there are two bright flashes in the sky, the world will collapse, but I have no regrets."
