Simultaneously (on the same night) 60 km from here, in the village. Bobrik, Romny district, an unknown creature attempted to attack a person.
The incident in Khustyanka surprised me more, since the phenomenon, during the attack, being already very small in size and weight, showed remarkable ingenuity and enormous (by human standards), non-animal strength. Rumors about the activity of the so-called "Chupacabra" already then spread to all neighboring areas.
First I decided to go to a distant village in the neighboring area. According to the stories of my friends, several small farms were attacked by an unknown aggressor. People are not rich here. Rabbits are raised for their meat.
The country estate, where I went, was located on the outskirts of the village (the last house). Nearby there is a pond, a shallow gully, and further around - agricultural land, sown with corn.
On the same days, in the same places, one experienced hunter, whom I had known for a long time, reported that at dusk, driving with his wife in a private car along the corn rows, he saw a small, strange-looking creature that jumped like a hare and did not pay any attention to them …
Something too much coincidence, I thought. But back to the main events.
A local resident of King Ivan, a middle-aged man, had nine rabbits. Three of them are adults, the rest were two months old. Seven animals were kept in a fairly strong wooden cage, and Ivan Vasilyevich decided to keep two adult rabbits in a 2.5m deep brick silage pit measuring 1.5x1.5m. On top of the hole, at soil level, I covered it with used slate sheets. And all because a large village (a former regional center) was already terrorized by some terrible monster. In such a "reliable" structure, the animals lived for only a day. Before that, the master's dog died next to the yard, on the road, under the wheels of a car.

And on one of the August nights in 2011, the manor was attacked or attacked by unknown creatures. First, the creature took care of the rabbits in the cage. Its doors were closed with a nail. But the monster, for some reason easily tearing off a 3.5 cm board with 10 cm nails from the end side, pulled all the animals out.
A year later, I began to collect material evidence of the reality of the phenomenon for the cryptozoological exposition of the Cosmopoisk Museum. I went to the village on a torn-off board. She was already nailed back with the same 10cm nails. They brought me a small crowbar and I tore off this material evidence for about 5 minutes. Now the board, with traces of teeth and claws, is an exhibit of the cryptozoological section of the museum.
Three victims disappeared without a trace, and 3 more corpses lay scattered around the yard. One rabbit, for some reason, was left alive. And even two days after the attack, he was still in a state of stress. This rabbit managed to live its short life. Ivan Vasilyevich no longer raises rabbits.
Having completed their vile deed in the center of the courtyard, the creature moved outside of it. She easily, in the pitch darkness, found an underground shelter where two rabbits had not yet settled down. And then the high intelligence of the phenomenon manifested itself. Having determined where the narrowest slate sheet (40 cm) is located, the creature shifts it along the wave structure, jumps down (2.5 m), kills two rabbits, bites off one hind leg and puts it at the head of the other.
Now he has a problem of how to get back through a gap with an average width of only 19 cm. Having pushed off the floor, the creature leaps onto a brick wall and, 40 cm from the top edge of the masonry, leaves three crooked scratches from the claws (like a nail) goes nowhere …
But that's not all. The slate lay obliquely. Therefore, the gap was oblique. The difference in the width of the gap between opposite sides was only 2 cm. On one side -18 cm, and after one and a half meters - 20 cm. The reader probably already guessed that the claw marks were left on the side of the brick wall, where it was wider - 20 see And this distance was determined by the creature at night.
In other courtyards, the phenomenon followed the same pattern and with the same handwriting. Soon there was a lull. It still works. How long it will be calm in these places, time will tell.
