Kuzbass had its own Zana

The story of Zana, a "snow woman" caught by hunters in the Caucasus at the end of the 19th century, held until her death for years in captivity and involuntarily gave birth to children from ordinary men, is still considered a sensation. Not only Russian - world. And this legend, judging by the latest data of scientists, was based on real events.

And recently it turned out: a story similar to the story of Zana (only the opposite) happened in our area near the village of Chumai at almost the same time! Grigory Masalsky, a retired teacher of the Chumai school, Svetlana Tkacheva, an employee of social protection, and Anatoly Kulemzin, a professor at the Kemerovo Institute of Culture, told about this to Kuzbass.

- I myself was not a witness of those events, I was not even born then, - everyone told me when we met. - But my older relatives in their native Plague told about this more than once …

Mountain Blueberry

Along Chumay - an ancient village of the Chebulinsky region, built with love by the first settlers, the wind blows lightly, like spring. The hillside streets are low. The snow had settled down from the proximity of the warm sky. And the faces of the grandmothers and grandfathers, whom I go around, collecting the legend about the man + yeti, scattered throughout the huts, like weathercocks, turn in the same direction. To the Chernichnaya mountain, behind the still sleeping snowy river Kiya.

- Summer will come, people will again go for blueberries … And again the order will sound not to climb far up the mountain, it’s dangerous there, once it happened there!

The tenacious teacher's memory of 76-year-old Grigory Stepanovich keeps most of the details about what exactly happened:

- I heard this story from my father, and he heard it from his father Ivan. Grandfather was a reliable person, he spoke only the truth. He is from a family of exiles, before the October Revolution was one of the "political" contacts in Siberia. He traveled to Irkutsk through the taiga with an assignment in a week on horseback from Chumai, transmitted information and, receiving, as always, only oral letters, sent back … So before the revolution he disappeared in the taiga. He was considered the best taiga and hunter. And he regretted that this amazing incident happened without him.

It began a couple of years before the revolution. The Chumai women went to Blueberry for berries. And by evening one was missing.

Of course, they were looking for her. The village equipped the hunters with guns and dogs. They shouted, called, shot. The mountain was silent. And that's all. The village decided that the missing woman was lifted up by a bear.

More than a year has passed … And the woman suddenly came out to the peasants who were preparing timber for the construction site (but I don’t know if it was on the Kiya or nearby on the tributary). Skin and bones, barely alive. In rags. She said: on Chernichnaya she was grabbed, carried away by a bear-man, covered with wool, walking on two legs.

It would be called a Yeti these days! Especially since 2008, when scientists marked Kuzbass on the world map (first of all, our taiga south) as a place of migrations, traces of the Yeti, collecting since then a lot of criticism and a lot of real "material evidence".

- And the place where the forest was prepared was one of the temporary … So at that time the Alchedat, Ust-Sertinsk, Chumay people did it. As it was necessary for someone to build again, they assembled a brigade, went along the river - fell trees, prepare an alloy. The river was the main road, - continues Grigory Stepanovich. - The peasants agreed with the woman who was in captivity of the wild man that they would finish the work by evening, even if she would come up then. She had time, she came. And they took her on a raft, sailed with her to the village. And the beast-man did not immediately miss her. I followed the trail to the river, realized that it was not there. He returned to the cave and killed their child.

- And how in the village did they find out what happened, that a child was born to a woman and a yeti?

- She, as she reached the house, crawled (she was dropped off on the shore), told where the bear-man was holding her. Hunters gathered, got to the place, saw the murdered child. The child was small, did not walk yet. It doesn't look like a person at all. And it was a man, and not a man.

They buried the child there.

Then they tracked down, waited for the owner of the cave, and killed him.

… And what happened to the woman from Chumai, who was captured by the Yeti and became his wife?

Professor Kulemzin remembers the continuation of this story:

- Tatiana Nosenko, mother of my childhood friend, at the beginning

1950s talked about it. Only without details. A woman disappeared in Chernichnaya. But she returned after a long time, said that the bear-man held her back … She was exhausted, seriously ill. A couple of days later, a district police officer came to the village. Having closed with her in the ward (first-aid post. - Author), I talked about something for a long time. The nurse tried to eavesdrop. But it was not audible. The only thing she could make out was the question about the kidnapper: “What did he say? What language did he speak? Did he actually know how to talk?"

The next day, the district police officer took that woman to the hospital. She never returned to the village.

“A rumor spread across Chumay that she was pregnant and died soon in the hospital,” the professor said.

Evolution

- It is quite possible that this case was in fact, - confirmed Igor Burtsev, candidate of historical sciences, scientist-hominology from Moscow, director of the International Center of hominology, where signals about the yeti from all over the world flock. - There were similar stories … One, for example, was even documented in the United States at the end of the 19th century. There, the yeti also dragged a woman away, he was also in a relationship with her. And as the time came for her to give birth, she fell ill, persuaded to let her give birth to people. The Yeti averted her, covering her eyes so that she would not know the way and would not be able to show anyone. She gave birth to a child, but the baby did not survive …

Cases that occurred more than a hundred years ago show that humans and yeti were aggressive towards each other. People did not understand who the yeti were … Later, the evolution of the relationship between man and yeti moved to a neutral stage. And in recent years, relations have become more and more friendly. In the USA alone, more than 50 thousand reports of Yeti have already been recorded in 15 years. There is a surge of observations in the UK, Russia. Even near Moscow, we have already recorded 20 places where we saw the yeti. Messages continue to come from Kuzbass, Novosibirsk, Tyumen, Omsk regions, from the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The Yeti world seeks contact with the human world …

Larisa Maksimenko

I found the descendants of Zana in Moscow, Oryol and recently in Ryazan …

Let us remind you that Professor Mashkovtsev was the first to hear about Zana, a Yeti woman who lived among people, in 1962 in Abkhazia. He passed the coordinates of the village to the cryptozoologist Porshnev. He came and found eyewitnesses! Aksakals were over a hundred years old, but they remembered the end of the 19th century and the story of how the prince was on the hunt, saw a giant, ordered to catch it. The hunters left a bait in the clearing - pants. And they seized a giant attracted by an incomprehensible thing. The giant turned out to be a woman covered in wool.

Zana was redirected twice. With the last owner - a prince in the village of Tkhina - Zana lived until her death. First in a pit, then, getting used to people, in a hut … The captive gave birth more than once. The village remembers that two sons and two daughters of Zana survived.

Igor Burtsev, who worked with Porshnev, first came to Tkhina in 1975. He was looking for the grave of Zana, who died around 1880-1890. But he only found the grave of her son Khvit. The authorities allowed to do DNA analysis … And a few years ago, Professor Sykes from Oxford, having studied the material transmitted by Burtsev, said that it belongs to a subspecies that are "half human."

- But the mystery of Zana has not been fully solved, - Burtsev explained to Kuzbass. - DNA analysis has already been carried out in three laboratories, the results contradict each other. I am inclined to believe that Zana is a "Bigfoot", and not an open new species (subspecies) of man …

All these years Burtsev continues to search for the descendants of Zana. He has already met many. They have ordinary fates, smooth skin, but Zana's high but high cheekbones …
