Local residents decided that stray dogs were responsible for their losses. Mongrels, a flock of people living near human settlements, were shot. Only two were left - the quietest. But the night crimes continued.
“Cats first… This year the dogs… Next year sparrows will be shot in Berezhki,” a resident of the settlement Anatoly Ivanov opposes the cruel measures.
In the gardens, animal footprints are found, really similar to those of a dog; on the perches, you can see marks from the teeth of the animal.
“This is not a dog. The dog will eat it completely. Here the beast simply crushes the “victims” and, possibly, drinks blood,”writes Maria Selezneva. The Berezhkovites appealed to the administration of the rural settlement and the police, but officials and the department point the finger at each other, while the mysterious animal continues to visit the courtyards under cover of night and destroy domestic chickens, ducks and geese.
“In Berezhki, the problem is solved simply, according to the good old tradition - in a bag and under a tractor! But, since we also keep a bird, I tend to think that it’s not a dog, but a fox or a marten,”suggests Elena Kiseleva.
