In the small town of Winton in the central part of the Australian state of Queensland, it rained with small silver perches. The fish were found on wet ground after rain at the Oakhill family farm.
Tanya Okhil made a video of her children walking after the rain and finding fish on the wet ground. It is reported that prior to this rain, 80% of Queensland had a long drought and rain has long been expected. The rain was very heavy and was classified by forecasters as the rainiest day in March since 1994 and the wettest day since November 2000.
According to Tanya, she was stunned by this find, but her husband was the first to notice something unusual. "He told me that the fish just fell from the sky with rain and I have to go out and look at it so that he knows he is not crazy."
After that, Tanya, her husband and their children ran and tried to save the fish by lifting them off the ground and dropping them into the water. It is surprising that, apparently, the fish did not suffer from hitting the ground at all, they were alive and did not have any damage.
“They ran there in the mud for several hours, collecting fish and dropping them into a container of water, and then deciding what to do with them. It was a real adventure for them."
