In the village of Yaksatovo, Privolzhsky district, a mysterious creature appeared, which at night mercilessly dealt with domestic animals and greatly frightened local residents.
Some parts of the village look like a hurricane has walked here. The cages, in which the rabbits were, are broken, there are strange traces around the animal carcasses.
“At night we heard a strong noise, the dog was barking,” says the owner of one of the affected yards Galina Arbuzova. - It was clear that something strange was happening, but we were afraid to leave. And in the morning they found that almost all of our rabbits had died. The cells are damaged as if they were knocked out with a fist by a person with remarkable strength. Only those who are difficult to reach survived.
The neighboring courtyard got even more. Not a single rabbit has survived here. And the most surprising thing is that one of the cages remained intact, but the rabbit inside it was dead and, moreover, without the skin. Chickens also got it from the mysterious killer.
This is not the first time this has happened. An unknown animal attacks the village at night and leaves traces unknown to local hunters. In Yaksatovo there are persistent rumors that the animals are being killed by the Chupacabra, a mysterious creature whose nature scientists still cannot determine.
But the villagers talk about the Chupacabra willingly and competently. It turns out that the first rumors about her appeared in Puerto Rico in the mid-nineties and quickly spread throughout the Americas. Soon they started talking about the Chupacabra or the goat vampire in European countries, and then in Russia. According to legends, a creature shrouded in mystery kills animals and sucks their blood.
- How it jumped to Russia, no one knows, - village zoologists are horrified. - The vampire looks like a bald dog with fangs and a pig's face. You can't catch him, everyone is afraid.
Frightened residents of Yaksatovo, in order to deal with the Astrakhan Chupacabra, turned to the local district police officer Sergei Udodov.

“The victims complain that at night some animal is in charge in their yards,” Udodov says. - Well, maybe so, we already had such cases. I have been working here for eight years and I know of all similar incidents. This happens, as a rule, in winter in remote villages. It is difficult for starving wolves to get food in the cold, so they are robbed next to human housing. But now the attacks took place in the summer and in the center of the village. It is difficult to say yet who disturbed the village.

If the beast exists, it leaves some kind of traces that a specialist can understand. There are a great many legends and fables about animals. But near Astrakhan there is someone to attack pets without any mystical creatures: foxes, wolves, jackals, ferrets, martens and even feral dogs.
