In the private sector of the city of Beregovo (Transcarpathia) - Mocholivska, Stefanyka, Lesnaya, Veselaya streets - several dozen cases of the destruction of domestic animals by an unknown creature have been recorded over the past week. This creature usually operates at night (goes hunting after midnight), is not afraid of watchdogs, gnaws a hole in steel fences and gratings, easily breaks open solid wooden doors in cages …
The favorite food of the creature, which the locals have already nicknamed "Beregovskaya Chupacabra" is rabbits, especially pregnant rabbits. It is interesting that the night "hunter" also attacks chickens, but only kills them, does not eat chicken meat, perhaps only sucks blood. Cats are also often victims of attacks. Chupacabra usually enters the cage, then takes the prey to the yard and vomits there. Rabbits gnaw out completely, leaving only one skin.
Private house owners do not know what to think. Some believe that feral dogs do it, others suspect foxes or other predatory animal. However, there is no final version - no one personally saw the mysterious creature. People have already contacted the police, but have not received any specific advice. Now they are only fighting the consequences and strengthening fences and cages.
An unknown animal makes attacks almost every night, moving from neighbor to neighbor - it does not visit the same farm twice. At the courtyard of Vasily Vartsaba (Lajosha Palotsi Gorvat St., 24), where the cage was broken and a large hole was left in the steel fence, there were traces of an unknown animal. A rabbit and 4 rabbits were torn to pieces here. One of them was supposed to bring offspring - 12 small rabbits were scattered around the yard.
Veterinarian Stepan Secunda (Lesnaya, 41) killed 12 chickens on Saturday 24 March. There was only one "proof" left on the gate - white particles of wool. At Stepan Varga (st. Mocholivska, 12), everything happened at about 4 o'clock in the morning - there were traces of claws and fangs on the cage with rabbits - they are very sharp and leave deep grooves. Particularly impressive is the steel mesh, which Ivan Gerich shows with surprise (43 Lesnaya St.) - it is unbent to a perfect round hole. Even an adult man cannot do this.
Now the majority of Beregovo residents are in a panic. They don't know what to do with this scourge. How to protect your rabbits, cats and chickens, and most importantly, whether or not this mysterious "Chupacabra" attacks a person?
