The Englishman Karl Martin accidentally discovered a pot of the Indian civilization, whose age reaches four thousand years. He bought it at an old and second-hand sale for $ 5 and used it as a toothbrush holder for a long time. This is reported by Science Alert.

Martin worked for Hansons Auctioneers and was involved in cleaning artifacts for sale at auction, but did not immediately guess the age of the vessel. He took it to the antiquities specialists only when he saw a similar object while unloading a van with relics. Experts have determined that the antelope pot was made in the Indus River Valley (western India) around 1900 BC.

According to experts, the artifact was brought by wealthy travelers from India many years ago. Martin managed to raise a little over a hundred dollars by selling the pot at auction.

The Indian (Harappan) civilization is one of the three ancient Eastern civilizations, along with the Egyptian and Mesopotamian, and occupied the largest area among them. It existed in 2600-1900 BC in the valley of the Indus River, and its decline, according to one theory, was due to the depletion of the region's water resources and prolonged droughts.
