Experts believe that they will reveal the cause and extent of the fire in the estate of the merchant Alexander Miloslavsky.

Traces of the Trinity fire of 1737, which destroyed more than 12 thousand buildings, are preserved on stove tiles discovered during the repair of communications in the center of Moscow. The head of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the capital Alexei Emelyanov spoke about the unique find.

According to him, 55 fragments of 17th century stove tiles covered with green glaze were found, as well as coins and fragments of kitchen pots. The traces of fire on the tiles and the date of minting of one of the coins may indicate that the stove was located in a house that was burned down during the Great Fire.

- The images on the tiles are typical of that time. On them you can see floral, geometric and heraldic ornaments. Almost all the fragments show traces of the effects of fire, - the official's words are quoted on the portal of the mayor of Moscow.

Yemelyanov recalled that one of the largest fires of the 18th century - Troitsky - destroyed more than 12 thousand buildings, including monasteries, churches and city buildings. In his opinion, the finds will reveal the cause and extent of the fire in the estate of the merchant Alexander Miloslavsky.
