The professor says his research was not published in a scientific publication and newspaper editors refused to publish articles on the topic. As reasons for rejection, he was told that this study could have a "negative emotional impact" on readers.
“We do not want to be held responsible for the social consequences of publishing the presented scenario of the future as an inevitable reality, as well as responsibility for research in connection with climate change scenarios and adaptation strategies. Professor Bendell says their response reflects "the arrogant hierarchical attitude towards society that many academics are used to exhibiting when they refuse to publish research results simply because it could generate" negative sentiment among all segments of the population."
