The German neuroscientist claims to have found a dark area of the brain in which "evil" lurks, pushing murderers, rapists and robbers to commit crimes. To do this, the doctor had to examine the prisoners for many years.
Bremen-based scientist Gerhard Roth looked at X-rays, scans, and brainwave characteristics of people convicted of violent crimes and noticed one striking similarity.
“My colleagues and I showed the inmates short films, while measuring their brain waves. Whenever violent scenes of violence or murder appeared on the screen, subjects were completely emotionless. And nothing happened in the areas of the brain responsible for feelings of suffering or sadness,”says Dr. Roth of the first results.
Then the scientists took X-rays and MRIs of the criminals' brains and noted one distinguishing feature - all rapists, murderers and robbers had a dark mass in the front of the brain.
“Figuratively speaking, we have discovered the area of the brain where evil is formed and hidden. We know of cases when a person became a criminal as a result of a tumor or injury to this section, and after an operation to remove the neoplasm, he returned to normal life. When I examine young people, I can say with 66% accuracy whether they have violated the law: young people with developmental disorders of the frontal lobe most often demonstrate antisocial behavior,”the German scientist says.
According to Dr. Roth, all criminals belong to three different groups.
The first includes mentally healthy people growing up in an environment where foul language, domestic violence and theft are common.

The second - mentally ill criminals who perceive the world around them as a threat to their own health. “The wrong look, one wrong move - and such a person simply explodes, turning into a dangerous killer,” the scientist explains.
The third is tyrants such as Hitler and Stalin.
At the end of his report, Gerhard Roth added: “The task of the experts is to detect a decrease in mental abilities in some people, which manifests itself even in kindergarten. The task of society is to provide reliable support to such children and their parents, thereby preventing the manifestation of negative qualities in such individuals."
