In the Tver region, a woman heard voices in her head and strangled her daughter.
On a cloudy day on October 9, the body of three-year-old Gulnara Vinnikova was found under the pine trees in the forest near the village of Strelchikha, which is 20 kilometers from the town of Kimry, Tver region. The place where the baby lay was indicated to the investigators by the girl's mother Tatiana. A few hours earlier, she had allowed the girl to draw the sun and a rainbow in a notebook, then she took her to the edge of the forest and strangled her with her own hand.
In Strelchikha, no one knows how she came to them in the wilderness, a reserved place where only Moscow summer residents come and live no more than ten indigenous aborigines. Maybe 30-year-old Tatyana and her daughter Gulya came here by train, maybe someone from Kimry gave a lift, but on the evening of October 7, she, wet to the skin in the rain, began knocking on all houses where the lights were on.
“She asked to stay, but we didn’t let her in, who knows what’s in a person’s head,” the locals say shyly one by one.
The strange woman found shelter only in the last house. She sat down on a bench near the porch, took Gulya in her arms, and sat there until Tatyana Krylova, a lonely inhabitant of this dilapidated house, saw her.
- I let them in, I felt sorry for the girl, she was all wet, - Tatyana extinguishes her memories with "chatter", she is scared of what she has experienced. - I ask: you, they say, why did you come here, with a small child, to the ends of the earth, what brought you here? She was silent all, then said: "I have business here." And the whole tale. She was strange - her eyes were empty …
The guest did not tell anything about herself. In the afternoon she took her daughter and walked around the village with questions.
- I almost fell when she asked me: "Where is your hole in the forest?" - Baba Masha has seen a lot of oddities in her life, but so that … - I didn't immediately realize that she was looking not for a hole, but for a passage to the forest. I showed the path, I ask: "Why do you need to go there?" She: "I must, they say, the voices are leading me."

The village understood that something incomprehensible was happening, but no one informed the police about the mysterious stranger and her daughter. There was, however, one person, Andrei Kochetov, who suspected that the case "smelled" of crime - a stranger must have stolen the girl.
- I talked to Tatyana Krylova, she said that the girl calls this woman a mother, after that I calmed down, did not call the police, now I understand: I had to inform … I can't sleep, my conscience torments.
Andrei has preserved records of a stranger with a girl wandering around the village - a video surveillance camera is installed on his house. Strange, but the police were not interested in these recordings, they just did not think to copy, although they knew about the house with video surveillance.
- The record shows how she, holding the girl by the hand, comes up to my gate and looks at the house, then leaves. On the next entry, she is already alone, again approaches the house, behaving strangely. These were the last captured moments when Tatyana Vinnikova and her daughter Gulnara were seen in Strelchikha. Tatyana Krylova recalls that early in the morning the stranger woke up, woke up her daughter and began to get ready for the journey.
- Where, she did not say. While she was getting ready, I sat with the girl, drew a sun, a rainbow in a notebook with her. This one (using foul language) was waiting for us to finish painting … I wanted to feed the girl, I boiled an egg, cut the sausages, but she says: no need to. I'll give her cookies on the way. And she left.
The alarm when her daughter returned home to Kimry without her granddaughter was sounded by Tatyana's mother. A couple of hours later, the police and investigators rushed to Strelchikha. The girl was lying at the edge of the forest just where her mother, who had confessed to the murder, had indicated.
- She was calm, absolutely nothing unusual, - this is how colleagues in the Kimry special school describe Tatyana, where she worked as a nurse until 2009. - From here, in mid-2009, she went on maternity leave. We never saw her again.
The woman lived with her mother, on whose pension the family existed. Gulnara was brought up by herself.
“In fact, she could arrange for Gulya to join us, but for some reason she didn’t do it,” they told KP in the Kimr kindergarten No. 2. “She gave birth to some kind of Uzbek, we have a lot of these guest workers here in Kimry.
Social security officials say that the Vinnikov family was not registered with them.
- Tatiana did not even receive child support as a single mother (342 rubles a month. - Ed.), - said the head of the department of social protection Elena Kulikova. - It is clear that the money is scanty, but at least something. There were no complaints about her, the family is not asocial, it does not fit in my head how this could happen.
The investigation opened a criminal case into the murder of the girl, the woman was arrested. In what Svetlana Goremychkina, the head of the Kimry interdistrict investigation department, told us:
- The woman says that she killed the child because the girl was supposedly ill and she could not support her alone. Her words were not confirmed - the girl was healthy.

- When I saw her, she behaved calmly, no remorse, depression.
- You initiated the direction of Tatiana for a psychiatric examination …
- She behaves calmly, but strangely, she talks about some parallel worlds, there is reason to believe that she is not all right with her mental health. She was not registered at the neuropsychiatric dispensary.
If Tatyana Vinnikova is recognized as sane, then she faces a term up to life. Otherwise, the infanticide will be sent for compulsory treatment. No psychiatric examination has been carried out yet.
