There are people who are prone to self-harm. This should not be left unattended, since in the future aggression towards oneself can spread to others. Such results were shown by a study conducted by the Karolinska Institute.
Scientists considered all Swedish citizens born in the period from 1982 to 1998 - their total number was 1,850,525. Researchers analyzed the data of each of them, starting at the age of 15, and drew attention to the fact that 55,185 people went to doctors to get help for self-harm, 66,561 people committed violent crimes, and 8,155 people did both, and other. In cases where people were engaged in self-harm, the risk of committing aggressive actions towards others increased by 5 times.
Therefore, the scientists conclude, with such behavior, one should not turn a blind eye to him, but provide the necessary assistance. It is very unlikely that a person harms himself just like that - often this speaks of problems, and it is far from the fact that it is of a mental nature. And the indifference of those around you can become an impetus for further violence.
