Self-centeredness is characteristic of modern people. It cannot be said that it was not peculiar to people of antiquity, but now it is more widespread. The game of personal opinions is widespread in modern society. Everyone believes that his personal opinion is the most correct and carries the truth. By and large, there is nothing wrong with that, because all people are different and everyone tends to think in their own way, but it's not that simple. And it would be all right if these opinions remained only opinions, and would not be passed off as the truth. This kind of egocentrism presupposes raising oneself against the background of others, lifting one's nose up and playing like: "This is my opinion, I decided so." Replacing objective reality with a private, subjective opinion. Such egocentrism comes from great selfishness, from pride. From the fact that a person simply does not respect others and only wants the best for himself.

Take, for example, snow: if you look at it from the side, then the naked human eye sees white in front of you, but some subject appears and begins to assert that the snow is actually purple, says: “I think so, this is my personal opinion, at least kill me, but I will think so. Another subject appears and claims that the snow is actually green. But in spite of what they think, the snow will still remain white, i.e. the truth will remain true, and the subject will remain with his fantasies. There are a lot of such examples, from extremely stupid, like with snow, to complex ones. And when there is a substitution of objective reality for subjective, when people do not want to perceive reality and replace it with their own opinion, then this is bad and in some cases dangerous!

But there is another use for one's personal opinion - when the truth is not denied, but only options for manipulating this truth are offered. When the change in basic values does not depend on personal opinion. For example, there is snow on the road, no one doubts that this snow is white and that it is, in fact, snow in general. There is a task - to remove it, and here opinions are already offered: either remove this snow with shovels, or spread it out with your hands, or not remove it at all. The nature of this snow will not depend on any chosen decision, it will still remain white and only move from place to place.

Opinions are good when there is a need for them, when there is a problem and options for solving it are required.
