As the popularity of adventure tourism continues to grow, any tours are offered. But for bored tourists, all of this is not enough … They now want to go into space.
One of the space startups hopes to launch the first luxury hotel in space called the Von Braun Space Station. The name comes from NASA scientist Wernher von Braun, who first came up with the concept of a space hotel.
According to architectural design magazine Dezeen, the space hotel will be designed with a more natural, homely feel, as opposed to the cold, minimalist designs associated with space travel.
The space hotel is being developed by the Gateway Foundation, which hopes the space station will be operational by 2025 and serve 100 visitors a week. While we're still a long way from making space travel a mainstream, the company wants to make the experience available to everyone.
“At the end of the day, going to space will just be another option that people will take for their vacation, just like taking a cruise or going to Disney world,” Alatorre said.
The technology that will be used to design and build the von Braun space station is based on earlier concepts developed by the Nazi scientist himself. He also developed the infamous Nazi V-2 rocket. After the end of the war, Wernher von Braun was hired by NASA to become a renowned American scientist and a major contributor to the American space program.
The von Braun space station will have a spinning wheel about 623 feet wide to create a lunar-like gravitational force. The design also boasts 24 separate modules equipped with berths and other support functions that will be positioned around the wheel.
The foundation plans to sell these residential areas to both long-term civilians and government agencies as a space hub. The space station will be able to accommodate about 400 people.

The existence of gravity is a huge component of the success of a space hotel, because it will allow it to have all the same amenities as an ordinary hotel on earth, which means that there will be a full kitchen for restaurants and bars, movie theaters and, of course, ordinary flush toilets.
This means that guests do not have to worry about any restrictions when working in space, which is still a problem for astronauts.
While plans for a space station are still ongoing, the company is already targeting its next aerospace project: the Gateway, which will be a much larger structure than a hotel to accommodate more than 1,400 people at a time.
