According to Dutch psychologists from Utrecht University, anger is the most interesting manifestation of a person, because it is both a negative and a positive feeling, notes AMI-TASS. Experts made this conclusion after a series of experiments.
In particular, the researchers asked the volunteers to view various images of objects such as a mug or a pencil on a computer screen. At the same time, right before each picture appeared on the monitor, a photograph of a neutral, angry, frightening face to choose from flashed. Each such image was emotionally attached to the depicted one, creating a connection at a subconscious level.
When the viewing came to an end, the participants in the experiment were asked which of the objects they saw they would like to receive. And in the second series of experiments, it was required to squeeze the handle in order to obtain the desired object. Those with the harder grip were more likely to win.
The final analysis showed that the volunteers made more effort to obtain items associated with images of angry faces. At the same time, people were unaware that their preferences were related to anger. Scientists believe that associating an object with anger increases motivation to achieve a goal, which, in turn, is often associated with positive emotions. Plus, anger itself activates the left brain regions associated with many positive emotions.
