The initiative to build the world's largest bunker belongs to one man - Robert Vicino, the owner of a company that buys old military bunkers and converts them into shelters from the Apocalypse. Vitsino recently acquired a "three-quarters of Manhattan" plot of land that housed 575 abandoned military bunkers and is now rebuilding them.
From the outside, these bunkers look like small mounds of earth with a concrete entrance. Inside each of them there is everything for a comfortable stay of a small group of people; it is reported that 575 bunkers will be able to accommodate from 5 to 10 thousand people. There are supplies of water and food, as well as designer interiors of the rooms.
For those who want a more comfortable waiting out of a hypothetical cataclysm, Vitsino offers another complex of bunkers, which is located in Germany. In the German bunkers, which also belong to the Vitsino firm, there is even a pool and a theater room. But they also cost much more than 25 thousand dollars.
Vitsino is one of those people who call themselves "Survivalists". These people are at any moment ready for the outbreak of the Third World War or a huge asteroid will fall on the Earth or something else will happen and it will be possible to survive only in special underground structures. They create underground bunkers, store up supplies of food, water, weapons, etc. Most of these survivalists are in the United States.
