Attempts to reconcile water and the internal combustion engine (ICE) are constantly being made by both motorists and scientists. It should be noted that an internal combustion engine running on water is not a fantasy, but a fact repeatedly established in the history of the world automotive industry. As a rule, in this case we are talking about the use of hydrogen, which is obtained from water by electrolysis. In wide practice, this method has never taken root. But interest in the engines running on fuel-water mixtures remained.

Again, a message appeared on the Internet about a successful experiment in combining water with car fuel, carried out by scientists from the Joint Institute for High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Joint Institute for High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences).

Scientists have achieved stable combustion of a mixture of fuel and water, provided that a certain amount of surfactant (surfactant) is added to this mixture.

The most encouraging result of these experiments was the establishment of the fact of an increase in the efficiency (efficiency) of an engine running on such a "dubious" fuel mixture.

Furthermore. Scientists have found that when using the classic version of the fuel (that is, without water), there is a decrease in the efficiency of using this very fuel. In this case, part of the fuel does not have time to burn in the cylinder and is thrown out in the exhaust, enriching the surrounding space not only with combustion products, but also with such a useful and expensive product as gasoline.

Consequently, water in fuel is not harm, but a real blessing for the entire automotive industry of the country. Now the roads are open and water will be poured into petrol tanks at all gas stations. It remains only to figure out how to add these same surfactants to the fuel mixture - immediately before fuel injection, sweep it into the engine cylinder or in advance - when preparing the fuel mixture at a gas station. Scientists are now solving this problem by conducting new research in their laboratories.
