Spacecraft of the Starlink system of the American company SpaceX can work in the interests of the military, providing "functional or force defeat" to other satellite radio-electronic systems, writes Alexei Leonkov, a military expert of the Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine, in Zvezda.

The author warns that this could happen when, instead of distributing the Internet, all of the future 12,000 Starlink satellites will start working as 48,000 active phased array radars.

“And then mankind, not without surprise, will face the fact that from this moment all information communications are in only one hands - American, since all other national satellite communication and relay systems will cease to exist,” admits Leonkov.

In April, the expert indicated that the Starlink system of near-earth satellites could be used by the Pentagon for target designation of high-precision weapons.

In the same month, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said that the state corporation would not merge with SpaceX, since the latter is a Pentagon contractor. Andrei Ionin, Corresponding Member of the Tsiolkovsky Russian Academy of Cosmonautics, commenting on this statement of the official, noted that Roskosmos sells rocket engines to the United States, which are used in rockets that launch American military spacecraft.
