American scientists have discovered the reason for a curious phenomenon: the slower a person thinks, the more ingenious decision he comes to.
For this, experts have studied the brains of people with a high level of intelligence for many years and found that in the area of the brain responsible for the perception of visual and sensory information, they contain a high concentration of so-called NAA molecules. These molecules are responsible for intelligence and creative thinking.
However, the paradox is that, according to the authors of the study, the movement of these molecules in the brain of a person with a high IQ is slower than in other people. As an example, experts cite the brilliant scientist Einstein, who pondered each question for a long time and was reputed to be slow-witted since childhood.
The fact is that NAA molecules are located in the tissues of the gray matter, which, in turn, consist of neurons. The connection between neurons is carried out by the so-called axons - long processes of the white matter. In ordinary people, they are covered with a thick fatty membrane, and in highly intelligent people, they are incredibly thin, which makes it difficult for the latter to move nerve impulses.
Therefore, it takes a lot of time for genius intellectuals to make their brilliant decisions, the authors of the study write in the authoritative journal Science.
