Combat robots created in Russia cannot rebel against the operator, since the developers make it possible for only a person to make a decision about hitting a target. RIA Novosti was informed about this by Dmitry Ostapchuk, head of the 766 UPTK enterprise, which produces the Uranium complexes.
“There are a lot of cases, as you put it, of competitors'“rebellion”, when, for example, programming errors lead to the fact that a robot can pose a danger to humans. God forbid he may start shooting in the wrong direction or go to the wrong person,”said the agency's source.
Ostapchuk did not specify which states or models of unmanned military equipment that may not work correctly, we are talking about.
According to the director of the UPTK, the Russian military has no alternatives but to develop the use of robots.
He noted that fighting robots have advantages over humans - the speed of "thinking" and physical strength.
Complexes "Uran", produced by the UPTK, were used in Syria, specifies RIA Novosti. The robot was used, among other things, for the clearance of Palmyra. The agency clarifies that 100 percent of the shares of the manufacturer of the complex belongs to the Ministry of Defense.
Breaking Defense in October named the Uran-9 complex among the most powerful Russian military robots. Also on the list were "Whirlwind" and the unmanned "Armata".
