SberCloud, a cloud provider of the Sberbank group, and NVIDIA, a world leader in high-performance computing and an AI platform developer, have signed an agreement to jointly develop and deploy artificial intelligence-based products and services on the Russian market. The agreement was signed during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2019) by Sberbank Executive Vice President David Rafalovsky and NVIDIA Vice President Europe, Middle East and India Yapp Zuiderveld. This was announced on Thursday, June 6, by the Lenta.ru correspondent.
In accordance with the agreement, SberCloud is creating AI Cloud, an innovative product built on NVIDIA DGX-2 systems - computing systems created specifically for solving artificial intelligence problems. NVIDIA DGX-2 is the world's first GPU-based dual-petaflops system equipped with all the software you need to accelerate new types of AI models.
“Partnering with a global leader in high performance computing and advanced artificial intelligence solutions like NVIDIA on the SberCloud platform will help companies and the scientific community in Russia get very powerful AI tools. We believe that this will significantly advance the market in the AI direction,”Rafalovsky commented on the signing.
AI Cloud will be the first SberCloud product based on Sberbank's many years of development in the field of artificial intelligence. The partnership between SberCloud and NVIDIA will make Data Science As a Service available to both the largest Russian corporations and small and medium-sized businesses, as well as scientific and educational institutions.
The cooperation program between SberCloud and NVIDIA will include the development of a scalable strategy for introducing AI into the Sberbank ecosystem, joint educational events and technological cooperation between research groups in the field of artificial intelligence.
