The island of Kodachok in the Dnieper, which is associated with the names of Grand Duke Svyatoslav Igorevich and the brave Cossack Ivan Sirko, is literally teeming with legends and myths

The etymology of the word Kodachok is as follows: the root "code" in Sanskrit means "ribbons", and the ending "ak" means action. That is, the word "kodak" means "the one who creates the tapes."

We thought for a long time what kind of tapes they were. The answer was suggested by local old-timers, who have been watching the island since childhood - according to local resident Viktor Zhuk, you can often see a rainbow over the island. The rainbow is a sacred sign of the Sun, so the ancestors could not help but worship the place, which was marked either by Nature itself, or by numerous gods.

“The strength lies in the fact that everyone believed that there is a representation of the sun god on earth. This sign of the rainbow is even now a sign of the sun, - Yuri is sure. “Since the creator has designated this island, then this is an exceptional place. Even Scythian and Aryan kings came here to conceive children, to embody the souls of the heroes of their ancestors in the present day."

Therefore, on the map of the island, you can safely designate several attractions of different eras: for example, the Sirko rock - it faces the east, it was here, according to legends, that he met and greeted the sun. The highest point is the place of the Scythian kings, and then the field is the father of Ora, where wheat was first sown.

Just before walking around the island, you need to get to know its keeper. Alexander Vereshchagin assures that he is the keeper of fables, legends, myths, magical knowledge and the true history of the island.

“My ancestors were keepers,” says Alexander Vereshchagin. "They kept knowledge of these places and passed on some technologies to me."

Grandmother told Alexander that the island is part of the sanctuary system. If an octagonal star is imposed on the whole of Europe, from Magdeburg to Arkaim, you get a system of sanctuaries: 24 key ones and in the center - the sanctuary of the god Ra. Kodachok Island is also part of this system - there was an ancient temple between the stones. In ancient times, the power of the gods descended on the earth at the temple. At the temple, ceremonies were performed, communicated and vital issues were solved. Here one could engage in meditation and practice, work on oneself and unite with nature.

At the highest point, the constellation of Orion and the Orion belt are clearly visible - it is believed that an impulse of force comes there. It was here that the Scythian kings came to conceive their children. At this place they both came to this world and left it - funeral rites were also performed on Kodachka.

Another legend associated with the island is the legend of the pyramid. They say that on Kodachka there was a pyramid with circles that illuminated all the settlements, but it disappeared without a trace.

Few pages in historical works are devoted to the history of this island: a few lines by Yavornytsky in the “Dnieper Rapids” and a couple of words by the French engineer Guillaume de Beauplan in descriptions of Ukraine. In addition, the island appeared on the map of 1780.

It is surprising that Yavornitsky, a well-known researcher of the Cossacks, did not say a word about the Cossacks, who, according to the Kodachk experts, spent a lot of time on this island. Although, according to the keeper of the island, every hetman has been here - it was here that initiation into the Cossacks began.

Moreover, there is a legend that it was on the island of Kodachok that the soothsayers of the Zaporizhzhya Sich, the so-called Cossacks-kharaterniks, improved their skills. One of the most famous kharakterniks, Ivan Sirko, according to the island's experts, spent a lot of time here. Someone captured the name of the glorious Cossack on a rock, where, according to legend, Ivan Sirko met the dawns.
