Immediately I remember the fantastic action movie "The Matrix", where intelligent machines that enslaved our civilization put each person in a capsule, projecting images into his brain that imitate real life.
An employee of the American weekly "The New Yorker" Ted Friend recently published an article in which he said that in recent years the technological elite of the planet began to increasingly think about whether everything that we see around us every day is real. Of course, hi-tech geniuses are in no hurry to claim that we are at the mercy of machines, because there are other options. For example, we can live in a simulation created by aliens, people from a parallel world, people of the future, and so on.
Escape from the matrix
The good news, according to the journalist, is that two billionaires, deeply concerned about this problem, have already begun to look for ways to check whether we really live in some kind of matrix, or whether such guesses are just a game of suspicious human imagination. The Silicon Valley folks are planning to enlist the support of scientists and fund research that may answer this question. Perhaps such a pair of rich men will be able to escape the simulation, or even free all of humanity from it.
