In cartoons, animals very often talk and behave like people. But what will happen if you and I really understand what our four-legged friends are telling us? The developers from The Temptations Lab, with the support of the largest manufacturer of cat food Mars, decided to give cats a voice by releasing a special collar for them that analyzes meows and translates these sounds into a human-understandable language. The collar-translator was named Catterbox.
“We are convinced that if people begin to understand cats better, they will be able to understand how wonderful these animals really are. Modern research has proven that cats meow only when they talk to humans. They communicate with each other in other ways. We've analyzed thousands of cat sounds and created software that converts animal language into human-readable words. We then placed our technology inside a 3D printed collar. This is how the Catterbox was born,”says The Temptations Lab.
After the cat says something, the collar transmits sound to your mobile device, where a special application will decode the received data into human language and send the formed phrase to the collar speaker. So far, the application only supports translation into English, but the developers promise that in the future the list of available languages may expand significantly. The application also supports several different voices - male, female and even children, from which the user can choose the most pleasing to the ear and suitable for his pet. It is not yet entirely clear when such a collar will be available and how much it will cost. But, presumably, this information will appear on the official website very soon.
