An asteroid of impressive size will pass near the Earth in July. The approximate date of the rendezvous is July 11, however, scientists suggest that this may happen a few days later. This was announced by one of the specialists of the Ufa observatory Vladilen Sanakoev.

Asteroid MC4, whose diameter is about 250 meters, is rapidly moving towards our planet at a speed of 75 kilometers per hour. However, scientists note that there is nothing to be afraid of, since the Earth is not on the line of the potential route of a cosmic body. The maximum approach of the asteroid will take place in July and will be 2.9 million kilometers, which is approximately 8 distances from the Earth to the Moon.

In his statement, Vladilen Sanakoev noted that such an asteroid, when falling on our planet, is capable of completely destroying life on it. However, such fatalistic words are rather an exaggeration, since according to the accepted astrophysical scale, an asteroid of similar diameter is capable of causing destruction at most within the borders of one country. For example, a celestial body that crashed into the earth 65 million years ago, as a result of which the dinosaurs became extinct, according to scientists, had a diameter of about ten kilometers.

Earlier it was reported that the asteroid will fly exactly near the Earth on July 11. Now scientists cannot say with complete certainty that this will happen on this date. The exact time of the MC4's approach to Earth is unknown.
