No sooner had the scandal with medicines from babies subsided, than the world is already discussing a new cannibal case in a seemingly civilized country. In Thailand, a British smuggler was caught selling baked human embryos.

According to the police, the detainee bought the embryos a few days ago, paying 6.5 thousand dollars for them (more than 200 thousand rubles). He intended to resell them to Taiwan, while bailing out six times the amount for the smuggled goods.

According to the suspect, the people to whom he was going to sell the embryos believed that they would bring them good luck and wealth. It turns out that among Thais, as well as among some Chinese communities, there really is a belief that keeping human embryos brings good luck to the owner. Therefore, these mummies are often kept in homes and offices.

Meanwhile, AFP reports that the babies' bodies were dried, covered with gold paint and were intended for black magic rituals.

Shortly before his arrest, the man packed a terrible load, which was then found in the trunk of his car. The police are currently trying to establish the origin of the embryos. It is not yet possible to say with certainty whether it was a miscarriage or an abortion product.

It is curious that such a cynical act was committed by a British citizen of Taiwanese origin, Zhou Gongkun. Now the trial awaits him. However, local laws do not provide for very severe punishment for such a crime. The Briton faces one year in prison and a small fine.
