Human consciousness has a multi-layered structure. Even if the surface consciousness is pure and beautiful, it is not known what is in the deeper layers, what is in the subconscious, what is in the super-subconscious, that is, what is at each of the levels of human consciousness.
Spiritual practice makes it possible to plunge into the depths of each of these layers and stay there. It also allows you to understand and clear them.
In Buddhist sutras, the words "bhikkhus who are able to reach that shore" are found. It is said that when they reach that shore, they cross the ocean of rebirth. After death, a person enters the subconscious, goes through an intermediate state, and then reappears in the World of Phenomena.
The ocean of rebirths is associated with the subconscious, with the astral world. He is on the way from the ordinary state of human consciousness to Liberation. In order to reach the goal, it is necessary to swim across this ocean, to reach the “other shore”. "This shore", the ordinary state of consciousness, is associated with the rough, material world of Phenomena, which consists of six parts. The opposite shore is understood as the Causal world (the world without Forms, associated with the super-subconscious). The soul repeatedly comes to this shore and leaves it into the ocean of rebirth. This repeats itself over and over again, because storms, storms and undercurrents in the ocean of the Subconscious mind prevent it from reaching the other shore.
The obstacles for those trying to cross the ocean of rebirth are created by information in the subconscious. It is easier for those who have little information in the subconscious to reach the “other shore” than those who have a lot of it. But the more important obstacle is the worldly desires that arise from this information. Therefore, in cleansing the subconscious of unnecessary information and discarding one's own desires - attachment, anger, ignorance, greed, self-righteousness, the spirit of competition, there is a lot of sense.
There are many desires in the subconscious of the vast majority of people. Let's think about how we can overcome them. To begin with, you should engage in practice, which really makes it possible to "bring to the surface" worldly desires. The practitioner enters the sea of these desires, then gazes at them intently. Then he ponders whether they bring suffering or joy. By paying attention to the poison emanating from us, our souls can ultimately find peace and quiet. Ultimately, the practitioner calms and overcomes his desires.
In order to achieve this result, you can try the practice, the essence of which is to constantly have in your thoughts: "I will accumulate Merit," and also clearly realize: "I will keep the commandments." Of course, the devil's whispers will urge you to give in to desires. When this happens, think, “Right now the devil is trying to control me. But I strive for Enlightenment. I'm not going to give in to this devilish whisper. " Think, "I will not give in." And bear with it. No matter how hard it is, think: "All this is for the sake of my Enlightenment, which will benefit all living."
