Developing intuition
Why do the best ideas dawn on me when I shower?
Albert Einstein
Just imagine how confident and safe you would feel if you had a partner who is able to provide you with everything you need, suggest solutions to all your problems, open up new exciting prospects for you and show you how to take advantage of them, who could always come to help at your first call. In reality, there is such a companion, it is in you and is called intuition.
All great people, be they a businessman, an athlete or a statesman, always listen to their intuition. The ability to use intuitive clues is one of the components of success, as an indicator of the extent to which a person has been able to develop his inner self.
Somehow life brought me together with the richest and most successful entrepreneurs in Australia. We were in the hotel lobby, and there was another hour before my speech. I saw his photographs in newspapers and magazines, and immediately recognized him, so I approached and introduced myself. After reading in one of the newspapers that he very much trusts his intuition, I asked him if this was really so. “Intuition is central to everything I do,” my interlocutor said. “Throughout my life, I have not taken a single important step without consulting my inner voice.”
He is not the only one doing this. Mozart insisted that he gets inspiration from within. Socrates claimed to obey his inner voice. Einstein, Edison, Marconi, Henry Ford, Luther Burbank, Madame Curie - this list can be continued with the names of many famous people who directly linked their success with intuition.
Harvard Business Review columnist Henry Mintzberg conducted a survey among high-ranking officials and businessmen, as a result, he found that most of them "all the time solve problems too difficult for rational thinking with the help of intuition." From this he concluded: "The secret of success is not in straightforward thinking, which is called" rational ", but in the interconnection of clear logic and powerful intuition." Billionaire and founder of CNN, one of the richest people in the world, Ted Turner, also holds this view: "Discernment and intuition go hand in hand."

Conrad Hilton said that he once offered $ 165,000 per lot at an auction. When he woke up the next morning, he thought of the 180,000 figure. “Connie” was famous for constantly listening to his intuition, so he changed his bet to $ 180,000. He got this lot (which he later sold for more than $ 2 million), since the highest bid offered for him the next day had already risen to $ 179,000.
Ray Kroe acquired the McDonald's restaurant chain on the advice of his lawyers and accountants, as "his spinal cord felt that it was reliable." Today, McDonald's restaurants are in fact reliable, the most thriving business in the world, and Kroe's decision to acquire "several hamburger stalls" has made him a multimillionaire several times.
By listening to their intuition, people make the most correct decisions, put forward the most creative ideas and look deeper at things, choosing the shortest paths from realizing their desires to their realization. A person who is always in the right place at the right time and who is lucky with surprising frequency in life is not just a lucky person. He has developed an intuition that tells him what to do and when. An inner voice allows him to question what seems obvious, opening up new possibilities. From here he draws the necessary knowledge, as well as instructions on when and how to use it.
Cognitive experts who study how information travels through the brain assure that only a small fraction of what the brain receives (less than 1%) reaches your consciousness. It's scary to think how much we are losing. The brain of any person is part of one large hologram, and each of these parts contains a whole. Only your personal experience and knowledge can be contained in your consciousness, while the subconscious is connected with the whole system, has access to all the information stored in it. You also gain access to it through your intuition.
How to get an answer
Training
Armed with all the facts and information available. Put your subconscious mind to work at full capacity. Try to find any information on the issue that interests you. Take in everything that is in any way related to what you are currently working on. Your goal is to collect such an amount of information that even the most incredible and disparate facts complement each other. Let your imagination run wild. Immerse yourself in this sea of information without trying to make sense of it logically - this is the work of the subconscious.
Maturation
Having understood all the facts well, you can relax a little. Preparation requires activity on your part, while maturation is a quieter stage. Now let your subconscious work. It works day and night, trying to find a solution regardless of whether you think about it or not. By the way, practice shows that the subconscious mind works better if left alone. A person becomes more receptive to what the subconscious mind tells him if he is not thinking about anything specific at a given time.
For the creative process, ideally, moments are suitable when it is possible to relax and dream: a long journey, bathing in a bath, a walk in the forest. For example, Nolan Bashnel, founder of Atari, first imagined what would eventually become the best-selling video game on a morning walk on an empty beach. Steven Spielberg said that his best ideas came up when he was driving a car for no particular purpose. And Albert Einstein once told his colleague: "Why do all the best ideas dawn on me when I wash in the shower?"
All the time thinking about how to find the right answer, it is possible to get the opposite result. For your intuition to help you, you need to relax and give it the opportunity to work.
Awakening intuition
Below are three steps that can help you naturally and effortlessly awaken your intuition and get answers to your questions:
Step 1
Think for a few minutes that you really have a powerful subconscious, that there are absolutely correct answers and solutions, and that your subconscious will find them for you. Try to move from logical awareness of these facts to their emotional perception. When this happens, you will feel exhilarated. Consciousness needs to be constantly reminded of the existence of such a powerful assistant as the subconscious. You must feel confident, realizing the power hidden in you.
Step 2
It is necessary to clearly formulate what you are trying to achieve from your subconscious: what answers, solutions and views on the problem you want to receive from it. Repeat to yourself several times that at this very time your subconscious mind is working for you. Don't strain yourself to imagine possible answers. Talk to your subconscious with confidence, constantly repeating what you expect from it, but express it in words as if it already does it for you. “Now my subconscious mind tells me …” Repeat this to yourself at least a dozen times to feel that the process has begun.
Step 3
You need to relax and fill your brain with the confidence that the correct answer will be revealed to you. Remember that faith and confidence are not just sensations, but vibrations of energy. Such vibrations are capable of attracting correct decisions and answers, like a magnet attracts a metal. The brain, in which there are fluctuations in the energy of confidence in the correct answer, will naturally find that answer. Imagine how you will feel when you find the right answer: excitement, joy, relief. Feel it right now, but don't strain too hard. You should not think day and night that the subconscious mind will soon tell you the right answer.
All three steps take no more than 5-10 minutes to complete. They are best done every night before bed. The transition from wakefulness to sleep is the most appropriate moment when you can reach the subconscious.
Receiving the information
Often times, the answer can come in the form of a premonition or thought that has arisen in your brain at a time when you least expect it. It can happen, like in Steven Spielberg's, while driving or while having breakfast. Sometimes the answer may be prompted by a "quiet voice from within" that whispers to you: "Go there, try this, call this person, etc."
The ability to recognize such premonitions and listen to the inner voice does not come immediately, but over time you will master it. Don't be upset if at first you don't succeed. For most, no one has explained how to use intuition, so it shouldn't be surprising that many have difficulties at first. This ability is like a muscle that grows and gets stronger from training. You can develop your intuition by giving it proper attention, reaching out to it, trusting it, and acting on its prompting. However, first you need to believe in its existence and begin to listen to it.
Have you ever walked through the forest with a bird-savvy person? He will notice a dozen birds, while you can only see one. His eye is already trained, and he knows what he is looking for. With constant practice, his hearing became sharper. The same thing happens with intuition. Watch and listen carefully to what is happening within you. At first you will probably miss most of what your intuition tells you, but soon you will learn to hear it. It's much easier than you think. All that is required of you is a little practice and faith.
Quite often, intuitive ideas come to us in dreams. Dr. Frederic Bunting, a brilliant physician from Canada, discovered the chemistry of insulin in his sleep. He dreamed exactly all the steps that needed to be taken to discover the formula that had been eluding him for so long. The inventor of the sewing machine, Elias Howe, worked on her project for many years, but to complete his creation he was left with one small detail that he could not think of. One night he dreamed that he was surrounded by savages, and strange spears were directed at him - at the end of each spear there was a hole. Howe woke up with a firm decision - to make an eyelet on the end of the needle! This little detail was the key to the invention of the sewing machine.
The subconscious mind can suggest a solution every time in different ways, but you will always feel that you are receiving intuitive information on the quality of ideas, as well as on the feeling that arises. Joy, confidence and an overwhelming feeling: "This is it!" - it is these sensations that distinguish intuitive ideas from other thoughts appearing in your brain.
Open up to intuition
A certain attitude and type of behavior will contribute to the development of intuition, therefore, they must be cultivated. There are many ways in which it is possible to convey to the subconscious what is required of it and get what it wants. By accepting the fact of the existence of intuition and being confident in its power, thereby you create the preconditions for its work. If you can learn to think of intuition as a natural and beneficial part of everyday life, it will definitely show itself. But thoughts like “I can never solve this problem” or “I will never find an answer to this question” signal intuition that there is no need to worry. A positive thought and the conviction that you deserve not just an answer, but the best possible answer, propels your intuition towards positive action.
Don't be shy. Boldly tell your subconscious mind that its wisdom, knowledge and power guide and lead you. At night, I talk to my subconscious the way I would talk to my friend. I tell him (while repeating this to myself) that it is omnipotent and has access to "absolute knowledge." I confidently explain to him what it must fulfill for me. Then I calmly fall asleep in full confidence that everything will be done. This is always the case.
Here's a statement you should also try:
"My subconscious is my partner in achieving success."
By dividing this statement into parts, it is possible to notice that it consists of three key elements:
1. "My subconscious …" By affirming this, you thereby acknowledge the fact of the existence of the subconscious. You acknowledge and accept your "invisible partner" as real. Once again you remind yourself of its existence. Don't be afraid, you can't go overboard with such reminders.
2. "… my partner …" A partner is someone who works hand in hand with you to achieve common goals, someone who shares with you all the hardships of this work, while each of you solves his own circle of problems. Why not let your subconscious mind do what it does best - provide you with accurate information, ideas and answers? In any situation, you are not alone and are not left to fend for themselves, because you can always rely on your subconscious. It provides you with ideas and is a source of positive action.
3. "… in achieving success." The word "success" is a powerful statement that expresses everything that you would like to achieve in work, in relationships with people and in life in general. The mere repetition of such a statement causes vibrations of energy that can help you achieve your goal.
What to do when a quick fix is needed
Sometimes you have to make a decision quickly - you can't wait for a week or two, you need to decide something today. If you need to make an urgent decision, try this trick:
Relax your entire body by taking a few deep breaths or circular movements with your shoulders. Feel calm and relaxed. Calm your brain, and then confidently tell yourself 10 times, "I always make the right decisions." Feel the power of words. You should speak with confidence. After saying the phrase for the last time, make a decision immediately. Thus, you will avoid logical reasoning and get the answer from the subconscious. The first thing that comes to your mind is your decision.
It is sometimes helpful to avoid logical reasoning. It is impossible to live by obeying only the laws of logic: our life is overwhelmed with paradoxes and mysteries. That is why it is important to trust your subconscious, feelings and forebodings. In doing so, a person becomes closer to the truth than when dogmatically tries to remain within the framework of limited rational thinking.
Unfortunately, the school does not teach you to listen to your intuition. Instead, children are taught to select and decipher accumulations of knowledge. But it’s easy to see that in reality, even after you collect all the information you need, there is a gap that is not easy to fill. Here intuition should come to the rescue, which will prompt the right decision.
The quality of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. How many times have you tried in vain to find a solution or an answer in your head, passing the same information over and over again in the hope that you were simply missing something? You could not find the answer, since the appeal went only to consciousness, strongly limited the range of possible solutions. Trying old ideas, you have been marking time for years, wearing a blindfold over your eyes and with one hand tied behind your back. No wonder you couldn't achieve what you wanted. The subconscious is replete with new ideas, solutions and answers. Don't limit yourself. Open this treasury and take everything new, dynamic, original and full of life. These ideas and solutions exist in you now.
