Physicist and former NASA employee, Kevin Knuth, argues that complete skepticism about extraterrestrial civilizations is a fallacy.
We are alone? Unfortunately, none of the answers are satisfactory. Loneliness in this vast universe is a sad prospect. On the other hand, if we are not alone, and there is someone stronger and more intelligent or something more powerful, then it also becomes scary.
A former NASA aerospace researcher and now a physics professor, attended a NASA conference in 2002, where issues related to the assumption of the existence of aliens were discussed. During the meeting at the conference, one of the speakers loudly declared in an ominous tone: “You have absolutely no idea what is out there in space!” The silence was palpable as his statement reflected the truth. People fear that aliens have visited Earth. Perhaps, fortunately, the distances between stars and planets are prohibitively large.
“I've always been interested in UFOs,” says Kevin Knuth. “Of course, the inner excitement increases, with the thought that aliens and other living worlds may exist. But more interesting to me was the possibility of interstellar travel from a technological standpoint. In 1988, during my second week of graduate school at Montana State University, several students and I discussed a recent UFO-related cattle mutilation. The physics professor joined the conversation and told us that he had colleagues at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana, where they had problems with UFOs that could cancel nuclear missile launches with their technology. At the time, I thought this professor was talking nonsense. But 20 years later, I was overwhelmedseeing a taped press conference with several former US Air Force specialists, with a couple from Malmstrom AFB, describing similar incidents in the 1960s."
“July 2 is World UFO Day and it is a good time for society to embrace the disturbing and refreshing fact that we cannot be alone. I believe we must face the possibility that some of the strange flying objects, which are superior in technology and maneuvering in the sky to the best aircraft at our disposal, may indeed be visitors from other Worlds, and there is a lot of evidence to support the idea of aliens visiting our Earth."
Are there aliens?
Promotional video:
Recall that the ex-Minister of Defense of Canada, Paul Hellyer, in his interview, announced the existence of aliens. “Aliens are among us!” He told reporters. Former Federal Defense Minister Paul Hellayer believes that the aliens have not only visited Earth, but also made a great contribution to human technological progress.
Therefore, he could not understand why the world famous astrophysicist viewed them with such trepidation; Hawking warned that aliens could destroy humanity.
Paul Hellyer accused Hawking of spreading misinformation about aliens.
In the documentary, Hawking suggested that much of extraterrestrial life would look like microbes or small animals, but he adds that advanced life forms may be “nomads seeking to conquer and colonize” new planets.
“The reality is that they (aliens) have been visiting earth for decades and probably millennia and have made significant contributions to our knowledge,” Heller said. Earthlings owe a lot to their alien friends. Even that computer monitor on your desk can trace its origins back to UFOs, the former minister said. “Microchips, such as fiber optic equipment, are just two of the many things that supposedly were probably really taken from crashed UFOs,” Heller said. Heller admits that when he was Secretary of Defense, he never received any UFO briefings from the military. He says that he received reports of sightings and that some of them cannot be explained.
Many high-ranking officials, already in retirement, in retirement, often declare interacting with an alien race. So, it is reported that many technologies were taken precisely by the wrecked alien ships. It's not casual. Not every citizen of civilians will be able to adequately perceive information about the existence of extraterrestrial life.
Maybe it's better to believe that they don't exist? But the facts of meeting and sighting a UFO in the sky does not diminish from this.
Fermi paradox
Nuclear physicist Enrico Fermi was known for asking thought provoking questions. In 1950 at Los Alamos National Laboratory, after discussing UFOs over lunch, Fermi asked, “Where is everyone?” He estimates that there are about 300 billion stars in the galaxy, many of which are billions of years older than the sun, with most of them, is likely to have habitable planets around it. Even if intelligent life developed on a very small percentage of these planets, then there must be several intelligent civilizations in the galaxy. Depending on the assumptions, one should expect anywhere from ten to ten thousand intelligent alien civilizations.
With the technology and aerospace propulsion we've developed for space travel, it will take a civilization like ours 5 to 50 million years to colonize our Milky Way galaxy. Since this should have happened several times in the history of our Galaxy, one must ask the question, where is the evidence for the existence of these civilizations? This discrepancy between the expectation that there must be evidence for the existence of alien civilizations or visits and the presumption that no alien visits have been noticed has been called the Fermi paradox.
Carl Sagan correctly summarized the situation when he said that “extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.” The problem is that there has not been a single well-documented UFO encounter that has revealed any information about the existence of alien intelligence. The situation is aggravated by the fact that many governments around the world have already classified information about such meetings. But there are enough scraps of evidence that the problem should be open for scientific research, and that there were and are encounters with aliens, as well as the fact of UFO flights.
UFOs, taboo for professional scientists
When it comes to science, the scientific method requires a hypothesis so that a hypothesis can be tested, and then conclusions can be drawn. UFO encounters cannot be scheduled or repeated, which creates research challenges for scientists. But the real problem, in my opinion, is that the UFO topic is taboo.
While the general public has been fascinated by the existence of UFOs for decades, our governments, scientists and the media have essentially stated that all UFO sightings are the result of weather or human activity. No spacecraft is extraterrestrial. And not a single alien has ever been to Earth. In fact, we are told that the topic is nonsense. UFOs are outside the bounds of serious scientific research and rational discussion, which unfortunately leaves this topic in the realm of fiction and pseudoscientists, many of whom write and talk about conspiracy theories.
The media heightens skepticism by publishing information about UFOs when interesting, but always in a mocking or bizarre tone, and reassuring the public that this cannot be true. But there are credible witnesses and meetings.
Why can't astronomers see UFOs?
Friends and colleagues often ask: “Why can't astronomers see UFOs?” The fact is that they are observing UFOs. In 1977, Peter Sturrock, professor of space science and astrophysics at Stanford University, submitted 2,611 UFO sightings to members of the American Astronomical Society. He received 1,356 responses, of which 62 astronomers - 4.6 percent - reported observing or registering unexplained space phenomena (UFOs). This figure is similar to about 5 percent of UFO sightings that have never been explained.
UFOs have also been observed through telescopes many times. I know of a telescope, observed by an experienced amateur astronomer, in which he observed a guitar-shaped object moving through the telescope's field of view. Further observations are described in Miracles in the Heavens, in which the authors summarized the many observations of unexplained aerial phenomena made by astronomers and published in scientific journals throughout the 1700s and 1800s.
Government and military evidence
Some of the more compelling comments have come from government officials. In 1997, the Chilean government created the UFO research organization Fenómenos Aéreos Anómalos (CEFAA). Last year, CEFAA released UFO footage taken from a helicopter-mounted Wescam infrared camera.
The government and agencies of countries such as Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, France, New Zealand, Russia, Sweden and the United Kingdom, the United States are hiding facts about UFO encounters.
The French Committee for Research was created, which was officially engaged in the study of comets and asteroids, and unofficially - it was a group of scientists studying UFOs. Scientists concluded that 5 percent of the encounters were real, but inexplicable: the best hypothesis was that the observed objects and phenomena were extraterrestrial. They also accused the United States of hiding evidence of the existence of UFOs. Iran was concerned about a spherical UFO observed near nuclear power plants, which they called "CIA drones." The objects were reported to be about 10 meters in diameter and could reach maximum speed and leave our planet's atmosphere. Such speeds are on a par with the fastest experimental aircraft, but are inconceivable for space flights and overloads on the living organism of pilots.
Aliens are a topic worthy of serious study
There is ample evidence that a small percentage of these UFO sightings are unidentified structured craft demonstrating flight capabilities beyond any known human technology. While there is no single case for which there is evidence that stands up to scientific rigor, there are cases of simultaneous observations by several reliable witnesses, as well as radar and photographic evidence that reveal patterns of activity that are convincing.
Conversation Declassified information from covert research is interesting but not scientifically useful. This is a topic worthy of open scientific research, as long as there is no scientific consensus based on evidence rather than previous expectations or beliefs. If there really are alien ships on Earth, it would be very useful for us to know about them, their nature and their intentions. Moreover, it would provide humanity with a great opportunity, promising to expand and advance our knowledge and technology, and change our understanding of our place in the universe.
