Hvitzerkur is a rock in the northwest of Iceland that resembles a mystical creature. Translated Khvitzerkur means "white shirt". The reason for this name becomes clear when you see how, at a certain moment, a stone monster is “dressed” in a snow-white shirt by a flock of white seabirds.
An ancient legend, which the local population loves to retell to tourists, says that a supposedly rocky fifteen-meter creature is a troll that has turned into a rock under the influence of the scorching sun and is not the remains of a volcano that died out many years ago.
Sadly, the bizarre rock under the influence of ocean waves lends itself to gradual destruction. Local residents are trying to fight this problem as soon as they can. In order not to deprive themselves of their earnings, and the pleasure of tourists to admire the unusual monster, they fill the funny attraction with cement.
