On April 2, 2019, at about 20:00, residents of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region noticed unusual lights in the sky hovering in the area of the village of Oselki, Vsevolozhsky District.
This phenomenon lasted for quite a long period of time and it had many eyewitnesses. It was still daylight, someone was already at home and saw the glowing objects from his window, and someone was driving in the car on the way home and was able to record what was happening on a video recorder. In any case, our world is already digital in many ways, and there are many videos of this event on the Internet.
Eyewitnesses of the event talk about what they saw and describe it as "bright glowing objects in the sky." The lights observed were of various sizes, brightness and colors, of which orange predominated. After some time, the smaller lights joined the larger one, appearing and disappearing next to it. Later, all objects faded and disappeared altogether.
There are reports that this phenomenon was also noticed over Kirovsk, in the Sosnovo region of the Priozersk region, and in Priozersk itself, as well as in the Staraya Ladoga region, in the Volkhov region.
On the Internet, a lot of assumptions have been made about what it really was - from alien ships to weather balloons. But the most reliable version seems to be that the spotted UFO is a light target used by the military for aviation exercises. There is a good reason for this hypothesis - a military unit is located in the Oselki area and a training ground is operating.
According to Lenoblinform, Alexander Soklakov, the head of the Priozersky district administration, gave the following explanation for this phenomenon:
Of course, one can fantasize that aliens visited the Leningrad Region. However, not all eyewitnesses agree with this explanation. Judging by the testimony of some of them, objects were extinguished, then reappeared and moved in different directions. This behavior is not typical for light targets.
