The media regularly publish reports about the appearance of UFOs in the sky, about their landings, and even about the contacts of the enlonauts with earthlings. Most often we are talking about the United States, Canada, Latin America. A little less often - about the countries of Western Europe, even less often - about Eastern Europe, and very rarely about the countries of the Asian continent.
In an effort to at least partially fill this gap, today we talk about the birth of ufology in China and several episodes of contacts with UFOs of the inhabitants of this country.
Background
Modern research shows that the appearance of UFOs over China has a long history. Ancient chronicles mention mysterious objects that appeared in the skies of China as early as the 7th century, during the reign of the Tang dynasty, and also later, in the 13th-17th centuries. For the first time this was widely announced in 1982 by the official organ of the PRC government "Pekinskie Izvestiya", which published an article by Gao Li "People of Ancient China Saw UFOs."

And in the 20th century, on the night of July 24, 1981, thousands of Chinese residents observed UFOs over a vast part of their country. This event caused a violent reaction among the population, and the astronomical observatory in Qinggan was forced to give an official report to the press that on that night "an unusual celestial phenomenon was observed in 14 provinces of the country."
In general, ufology in China was "allowed" quite recently, and during the reign of the chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Mao Zedong, until his death in 1976, it remained banned in this country.
Formation of Chinese ufology
The beginning of the emergence of Chinese ufology can be considered the end of the 1970s, when, after the death of "Chairman Mao," as he was popularly called, a broad program of economic reforms began in the country, initiated by the deputy chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Deng Xiaoping.
The Chinese press began writing about UFOs after the first lengthy article on this topic was published on its pages by the organ of the CPC Central Committee, Renmin Ribao (People's Newspaper) in November 1978.
In 1980, a group of students from Wuhan University (Hubei Province, Central China) formed the China UFO Research Organization (COIN), which received support from the National Academy of Social Sciences. In 1981, the organization began publishing the Journal of UFO Studies, and by 1986 it had branches throughout the country and had more than 40,000 members.
One of the leaders of COIN, Professor of Peking University San Shi Li, visited the USA in February 1997 at the invitation of American ufologists. He told his American colleagues about several cases of UFO contacts in China in 1994-1995, about which nothing was known in the West.
A couple of years ago, the whole world was flooded with images of this UFO over China. The subject was filmed by many people and from different angles. What it was has remained a mystery.
Heavenly fire train
One of the more impressive cases occurred on November 30, 1994 at 3:30 am in a horticultural farm in southern China. The first to notice the strange celestial phenomenon were the night watchmen. According to them, “two bright sources of light appeared in the sky, followed by a dazzling ball with a tail, changing its color from yellow to green, and then to red”.
All this swept over them with a deafening roar, like a train traveling at high speed. This "flying train" cut off the tops of trees, leaving stumps no more than two meters high from the ground, at a distance of three kilometers with a "clearing" width of 150 to 300 meters.
The professor is convinced that such damage could not be the result of a natural phenomenon, such as a strong hurricane. This version was immediately rejected by both representatives of the local administration and members of the COIN, who conducted a joint investigation.
But the most mysterious thing about this incident turned out to be that the destructive force acted as if selectively: if the tops of all trees without exception were cut off inside the clearing, then the telegraph poles and power transmission line masts that appeared in the path of the flight of the celestial train remained intact.
“Fortunately, everything went without sacrifices and injuries among people and animals,” Shi Li said, “although the energy of this phenomenon was enormous. Flying over the gardens, the UFO appeared over the territory of the carriage plant. The roofs of several finished carriages standing on the factory tracks were torn off and thrown aside.
Some of the cars were overtaken by the UFO along the tracks from their parking place by several tens of meters, and in one place the metal posts of the fence were cut off like twigs. One of the workers was knocked to the ground and rolled head over heels about five meters, but he escaped with only a few abrasions. According to the workers of the plant, they saw something huge and long in the sky, with bright lights on the sides, sweeping over them with a loud noise, like a brightly lit train.
When a similar incident occurred three weeks later at another horticultural enterprise in Guizhou province, local authorities were alarmed.
“This event became known throughout China,” the professor continued, “it caused a great public outcry. An investigation was organized at the state level, a special commission was created. However, its participants did not come to any unambiguous conclusion, they only stated that what happened was of a very strange nature and could not be reasonably explained.
Simultaneously with the government commission, a group of COIN members, as well as scientists and specialists in various fields of science, worked at the scene.
“All of us, Chinese ufologists,” says Shi Li, “decided that it was a spacecraft of extraterrestrial origin. Apparently, he tried to land, but when he met trees on his way, he could not do this and only cut off their tops.
In 2011, a video appeared on the network with a pyramidal UFO near a Chinese nuclear power plant. "Too high-quality shooting to be real", - wrote in the comments
Contacts in heaven and on earth
The professor spoke about another interesting case of a UFO encounter that took place on February 9, 1995 in the southern part of China. The crew of a Boeing 747 on a regular flight saw on the radar screen an oval object about two miles away, which soon turned into a round object. The object was not visually visible, but it was reported from the control tower that a UFO was flying in parallel with the liner. At that moment, the Boeing's automatic system, warning of the danger of a collision, was triggered, and the dispatcher instructed the commander to rise above the cloud front.
Professor San Shi Li informed his American colleagues about the first direct contact of a Chinese resident with enlonauts. It happened in June 1994. Mon Xiao Guo, a peasant from the vicinity of Harbin, a city in northeastern China, and two other peasants working in the fields, noticed a strange object on a nearby mountain and decided to go there to get a good look at it.
Climbing the side of the mountain, they saw a large white shiny ball with a tail, like a scorpion. Xiao Guo began to approach the mysterious ball closer, but it suddenly began to emit a very powerful hum, which caused unbearable pain in the ears. Then all three hurriedly turned back.
However, the next day Xiao Guo, armed with binoculars, accompanied by several other people, went to the ball again. When he was about a kilometer away, Xiao began to examine the ball through binoculars and saw next to him a creature whose figure looked like a human. The creature raised its hand, a thin, bright orange beam of light burst from it and hit Xiao Guo in the forehead. He lost consciousness and fell to the ground.
This story had a surprising and unexpected continuation. When Xiao Guo was being taken to the hospital by train, he said that a strange and very unattractive-looking female suddenly appeared in front of him, whom no one else on the train had seen. Moreover, this person forced him to enter into an intimate relationship with her.
Going international
In October 1996, the International Congress on Space Exploration was held in Beijing, at which the President of the People's Republic of China Jiang Zemin himself made an opening speech. In addition to the leaders of the Chinese space research program, the congress was attended by representatives of NASA, the UN Committee on Space Research and the European Space Agency.
The agenda of this very representative meeting included various issues of aeronautics and space exploration, including the problem of the search for extraterrestrial civilizations (SETI project).
Mon Xiao Guo was invited to participate in this congress, where he spoke about his adventures. The appearance of a simple peasant among the venerable scientists and his message was met and appreciated by those present in different ways.
However, this unprecedented fact itself suggests that the modern Chinese leadership has come to regard ufology as an integral part of the space research program and treat it kindly and impartially.
