They told reporters that "after the disappearance of those strange flying machines, there was a kind of thick smoke hanging over the trees for several minutes, like a fog that smelled of gray." A reporter for Clarim magazine told readers that even four days after the event, Moreno's house still smelled of sulfur. The October editions of Tribuna (Rio de Janeiro) and La Nacion (Buenos Aires) published a detailed account of Moreno's 60 minutes of horror

- Senor Moreno! Senor Moreno, wake up!

Antonio Moreno rolled over and blinked to adjust his eyes to the darkness. Finally he made out in the bedroom doorway the familiar figure of his assistant, who worked for his ranch for hire.

- What? Moreno muttered. - What happened?

It was October 21, 1963, at half past nine in the evening, and 72-year-old Antonio Moreno, along with his 63-year-old wife Teresa, went to bed early. Of course, they were not very happy when a young impressionable worker tore them out of the realm of sleep: the guy, most likely, was upset about some trifle that would calmly wait until tomorrow.

“There seems to be an accident on the railway,” said the young man.

- Crash? - asked Señora Moreno, throwing a robe over her nightgown. But I am very light asleep, and the railway is only half a kilometer away. I would probably hear the noise if there really was an accident.

“But some strange light is burning over the tracks and the workers are doing something there,” the guy insisted. -

You can see for yourself: look out the bedroom window - this light can be seen even from here.

The Moreno spouses did so - and were very surprised to see a dazzling light over a group of people who seemed to be examining the railroad tracks.

- What a bright light! Señora Moreno exclaimed, squinting as if she were looking at sparks from electric welding. - Antonio, what are these people doing there?

“This is something strange,” Moreno frowned. - Why would someone need to inspect the rails at night?

Rancho Moreno was located in Argentina, in the province of Cordoba. This area was not so isolated from the outside world that a brigade of railroad workers needed to repair tracks after a working day.

- This light is moving! shouted the young assistant. - He moved on the rails at least five meters.

- Do not shout! Moreno put a finger to his lips. “Senora Moreno's sister and her children are sleeping in the next room. You shouldn't wake them up for such trifles. Most likely, this is a searchlight on some kind of railway platform.

“I'm burning with curiosity,” Señora Moreno said, and took the flashlight that was always near her bed. - I'll go for a walk and at the same time see what these people are doing.

Moreno was indignant, but then shrugged his shoulders: if his wife decided to do something, it is absolutely useless to argue with her.

Senora did not have time to go far. At the sound of the gate closing, the people on the tracks immediately noticed the farmhouse. And the very next moment, an object, similar to a plate about seven meters in diameter, began to dive at Senora Moreno. The frightened woman rushed to the ranch screaming, and all the household watched in horror as the flaming disk hovered over the treetops and sent a bright beam of light towards the house.

Senora Moreno gasped with surprise and fear, and when the beam penetrated the window and stopped on her, she felt tingling all over her body. One of her sister's children woke up screaming as a beam slid over his body.

- We were attacked by monsters from space! the young worker shouted.

“Help my sister hide the children in a place where this light will not reach them,” interrupted Señora Moreno. - We need to sit still.

Looking out of the window, Antonio Moreno was very frightened: four more objects slid towards the saucer, which fired at his house with its strange rays of light. However, of all the new disks, only one participated in the attack on his ranch - the other three remained hanging in the air, not flying closer than 500 meters. They were all alike: about seven meters in diameter, bordered around the edges by brightly lit square openings that looked like windows.

The besieged hid behind a sofa and armchairs - away from the windows. Whenever any of the children or adults began to move, a tingling beam of light quickly covered him with its spot.

- What do these things want from us? Moreno asked himself. - Why did they need us? And what are these people in sparkling suits doing on the railroad?

Señora Moreno managed to look out the window again and saw that one of the disks released a reddish-purple beam, and the rest continued to throw beams of white light. "The house has turned into a real oven," the Moreno spouses will later tell the Argentine magazine Clarim.

- They're trying to get us out of the house! cried Señora Moreno's sister in hysterics. - They want to expel us from here like animals!

- They won't do anything! We will not budge! Señora Moreno cut her off firmly.

For 40 minutes, the besieged house stood firmly under the pressure of the mysterious plates. Finally, the young worker noticed that the "people" on the railroad began to climb onto the disc, which illuminated the tracks during their inspection rounds. After a few seconds, the terrible rays of light disappeared and the plates that surrounded the house began to slowly move away.

As the discs flew away, Moreno's three guard dogs became worried and howled, barked and growled.

- And where were these dogs before? - Moreno was surprised. - And why were they silent like fish?

When the correspondents came to Moreno to interview, all the family members still hadn't come to their senses.

They told reporters that "after the disappearance of the quiet strange flying machines, there was a thick smoke hanging over the trees for several minutes, like a fog that smelled of gray."

A reporter for Clarim magazine told readers that even four days after the event, Moreno's house still smelled of sulfur. The October editions of Tribuna (Rio de Janeiro) and La Nacion (Buenos Aires) published a detailed account of Moreno's 60 minutes of horror. And although the story of the plates floating in the air, which in turn sent sharp poisonous rays of light, reminded more of fantastic fiction than reality, Moreno's story did not remain without confirmation from other eyewitnesses.

Señor Francisco Tropuano told the Agence France-Presse correspondent that at ten o'clock in the evening he was only one and a half kilometers from the Moreno ranch and saw six plates flying through the sky one after another. Although Tropuano only recently learned about the history of the ranch from the newspapers, before that he shared his observations with friends and neighbors.

Two days before the Moreno attack went viral, Argentinean El Diario (Monte Maix) and Brazilian O Jornal (Rio de Janeiro) shared how a truck driver unexpectedly saw and felt tingling rays of light.

Eugenio Douglas, a large commercial truck driver, told reporters that on the evening of October 18, as he drove down the highway towards Monte Maix, a bright white light enveloped his entire car. Senor Douglas was beginning to wonder where this light might have come from when his body went numb and he felt tingling.

Douglas lost control and slid into a ditch. Then the beam, it seems, "switched off", and when the driver regained consciousness, he saw that a bright light was coming from a disk hanging across the highway, which reached about seven meters in diameter. The chauffeur closed his eyes from the blinding light and suddenly noticed that "three strange creatures" were approaching him, whom he could only compare with "shiny metal robots."

The frightened driver jumped out of the cab, shot four times at the approaching monsters with a revolver and rushed away across the plowed field. When he stopped to catch his breath and looked around, he saw how these creatures were already rising to their plate. He soon realized that the "robots" did not forgive him for shooting. Taking off, the bright luminous plate made several circles over the head of the desperately running driver.

“Every time this disc swooped down on me,” Douglas told reporters, “I felt a wave of some terribly suffocating warmth and tingling sensation throughout my body.”

Eugenio Douglas ran all the way to the city of Monte Maix and went hysterical to the police station. As evidence for his account, he showed several painful burn marks, similar to scars; After examining them, the doctor admitted that they were "kind of strange, I have never seen such people." In an interview with the Argentine newspaper "Axion" the doctor admitted that he could not "give any explanation of the nature of the burns."

Plates are often seen over the railroad; and recently theorists have asked the question: what if these UFOs and their crews were more interested in power lines that run along the tracks, rather than trains? In September 1965, the city of Exeter, New Hampshire, received many reports of UFO sightings hovering over power lines. Often, witnesses mentioned a seven-meter diameter. Moreover, "robots" or "people in sparkling suits" appeared not only in the territory of the pampas. And the poisonous rays that these dishes directed at people, livestock, cars and mechanisms are not the only danger from UFOs.

In a classic example (first reported in the January 1963 EPRO Bulletin) Talemako Xavier was refereeing a soccer match between teams from two small villages in the Amazonian jungle. At the party after the game, everyone noticed that Xavier had disappeared somewhere.

The next day, a rubber plantation worker told the police a story that only complicated the mystery of what had happened to the missing Xavier. From the story of the worker it became clear that he saw how some round luminous object, releasing sparks, landed on the ground. Three people jumped out of it and grabbed Xavier, who was walking alone among the trees at the edge of the site cleared for the football field. Xavier desperately resisted, but could not escape from the hands of the people who attacked him. While a frightened worker watched from behind the bushes, Xavier was pushed into a luminous object, which then lifted off the ground and flew at a fantastic speed.

The police suggested that the strange creatures had chosen Xavier for their capture, since he, being the referee of a football match, seemed to them a person endowed with power.

No matter what Hans Gustafssson and Stig Rydberg faced, they are terribly glad it didn't catch them!

In 1958, just before Christmas, the men were driving from Hoganas to Heissinborg, in southern Sweden. Due to the thick fog, they had to slow down to 40 kilometers per hour. It was nearly three o'clock in the afternoon when they drove out to a cleared patch of forest on both sides of the road.

Seeing the light, the friends decided to get out of the car and see what it was. What he saw would be enough for a month as material for the most nightmarish stories.

Out of the fog suddenly a strange silhouette of a round shape that was about seven meters in diameter and about a meter high rose. It stood on supports about two meters each and, the strangest thing, seemed to be made of light.

Then, before the frightened eyes of Gustafsson and Rydberg, four small creatures began to jump around their saucer in some kind of eerie dance. They looked like living koloboks - without arms and legs, made of some dark misty mass.

Literally mesmerized by what was happening, the friends watched how these "bags of jelly" moved bizarrely. Then, without any warning, three such "bags" pounced on the young people and a nightmarish battle ensued.

Some tremendous force began to pull the friends to the sparkling plate, and they tried not to think about what to expect if the "bags" managed to push them inside their aircraft. Finally Rydberg managed to free himself and, jumping to the car, his whole body leaned on the steering wheel in the hope that someone would hear a long signal and come to the rescue.

It worked instantly. Gustafsson, who desperately grabbed the pillar with his hands and hung in the air in a horizontal position under the influence of gravity, suddenly collapsed to the ground. "Koloboks" rushed to their device and jumped into it. With a high-pitched whistle, the saucer began to take off.

Three days passed before Rydberg and Gustafsson dared to tell about what happened. After answering a lot of questions and passing a bunch of tests, they showed the police officers that part of the forest, which still had traces of the mysterious apparatus. Psychologists argued that men told what they themselves were sure of, and their statements are based on real facts. A hypnosis test confirmed that the friends were exposed to a strong magnetic field.

Rivalino Mafra de Silva was not as lucky as Rydberg and Gustafsson. According to the newspaper Manta (Rio de Janeiro), 22-year-old Raimundo de Aleluia Mafra, who lives in the Brazilian city of Duas Pontes, claimed that on the morning of August 20, 1962, his father Rivalino was kidnapped from his home by two unknown spherical subjects …

It happened at night when young Raimundo woke up from some strange steps in the house and loudly called his father. He immediately appeared and lit a candle.

The young macho had no words to describe the creature that was lit up by the flickering flame of a candle. It was not quite a shadow - it was more like a silhouette. It seemed to float around the room without touching the floor at all.

“It was half the size of a man, but in shape it did not resemble him at all,” Raimundo later told police.

The creature looked at Raimundo and his father, then walked over to the sleeping brothers of Raimundo.

“It looked at them for a long time without touching,” said Raimundo, “then it left our room, entered the next one, and then disappeared near the front door. After a while, we again heard someone's footsteps - but already running, and someone said:

- This one looks like Rivalino.

Rivalino called the creature to him, and it asked if he was really Rivalino. When Rivalino confirmed this, the creature left. Later, father and son heard voices in the street that clearly expressed their intention to kill Rivalino.

The next morning, a frightened Raimundo left the house to bring his father's horse, and saw two balls in the air - one next to the other - about a meter above the ground.

“The balls were big,” the guy said. - One of them was completely black, on top it had some kind of bump that looked like an antenna, and on the back - something like a tail. The other was black and white, but also with an antenna and a tail. They buzzed in a strange way, and a flickering light poured from their side."

Raimundo cried out in fear and called his father. When he went outside, the balls merged into one new ball, which began to lift off the ground, releasing yellow smoke, which made the sky darken. With a strange sound, the object slowly began to creep towards Rivalino.

When the ball finally approached him, it began to envelop in smoke until it was completely covered. The air smelled of something pungent. When the smoke cleared, the balls were gone; Rivalino Mafra de Silva also disappeared.

Raimundo rushed to the police and told his story to Lieutenant Wilson Lisboa, demanding that the police track down his father before it was too late. The detectives conducted a thorough investigation, but no traces - except for a few drops of blood found 50 meters from the scene - were found. Moreover, it was impossible to say for certain whether this blood belonged to Rivalino.

In an attempt to establish a motive for the "crime", the police decided to check what had happened to Rivalino on the eve of these events. But the check confused the investigators even more.

It turned out that Rivalino on August 17 - shortly before his disappearance - was returning home and saw how two small, only about a meter tall men were digging a hole not far from his yard. When he approached them, the strangers fled into the bushes. And almost immediately above the bushes, an object similar to a hat, shining with red light, rose up and disappeared into the sky with great speed.

Rivalino described the strange phenomenon to his employees, but they did not believe him, although this man never lied or told fables.

Father José Avila Garcia also did not believe what he was told. He told the police that, most likely, Rivalino was killed, and the story about the sparkling balls Raimundo just invented.

However, Antonio Roja, a friend of the priest, was fishing near Rivalino's house that day and saw two spherical objects above it. When Raimundo described the orbs that had kidnapped his father, Roja realized that they were both observing the same objects.

As if to confirm the words of the Rivalino family and his friends, four days after the abduction, more than 50 people saw a strange object that flew over the city of Goveya, which is a few miles south of Diamantha, the administrative center of the district of the same name. The flying object was white, shaped like a soccer ball, and surrounded by a halo of blazing light. Witnesses noticed that the strange object changed course during its two-minute flight - from north to northwest.

The disappearance of Rivalino Mafra de Silva remains an unsolved mystery to this day, although the majority of the population of the Diamantii district remains skeptical about this extraordinary story; the people closest to the Rivalino family say an additional prayer in the evening, but still their sleep is restless; and many locals now walk in groups and never alone.

On July 17, 1967 at 15:00, a group of young Frenchmen from the village of Arc-sous-Sicon decided to walk through the fields, densely covered with walnut bushes. Children were climbing a small slope to a pine forest, and suddenly one little girl who was walking in front of everyone cried loudly and ran back home as fast as she could. She told her mother that she saw several "little Chinese" behind the blackberry bushes, and one of them got up to grab her.

A little later, two teenage girls said that they saw a strange little creature with a bulging belly, which ran from bush to bush. He wore a short jacket and ran much faster than a human. The girls heard several of these creatures talking among themselves in "strange monotonous voices."

Rosa Lotti (nee Dainelli), 40, a mother of four, lived on a farm in a wooded area near the village of Chenyang, near the town of Bucine in the Italian province of Arezzo. On November 1, 1954, this woman saw with her own eyes two tiny creatures that emerged from a spacecraft.

This happened at 6:30, when Rose was walking to the altar of the Madonna the Wanderer with a bunch of carnations. As soon as she entered the clearing, she saw some kind of barrel-shaped object, which immediately aroused her curiosity. It looked like a spindle, only long, almost two meters high, and resembled two bells, put together and wrapped in something like leather.

Suddenly, two creatures appeared on the surface of this aircraft, "similar to men, only in height - like children." They had human, quite friendly faces, and they were dressed in completely closed gray overalls. Their equipment also included some kind of short capes or camisoles, which were fastened to the collar with small, star-like buttons. Helmets glittered on their small heads.

The little people acted energetically and lively, while speaking quickly in a language that Rose thought was similar to Chinese: the woman could distinguish words such as liu, bai, loi, and lau. Their eyes were beautiful and "full of intelligence" and their faces were normal, only the upper lip appeared to be slightly curved in the center, so it seemed as if they were always smiling. The teeth, large and wide, were as if polished and protruded slightly forward. (In the opinion of a country woman like Rose, their mouths were "like rabbits").

The older looking one was constantly laughing and seemed to want to make contact with Rosa, but she got scared when he snatched the carnations and one of the black stockings from her hands. Surprised, embarrassed, Rose reprimanded him with all the severity she was capable of - and this creature returned her two flowers, wrapped the rest in a stocking and threw the bundle into its "spindle."

To thank the woman for the stockings and studs, the aliens went to their capsule for some two bags. Rose seized the moment and ran away. She rushed headlong through the entire forest, and when she finally turned around to look at the mysterious creatures, they were already gone.

Rose told the story to the village policeman, the priest and all the neighbors who knew her as "absolutely sober, without any silly fantasies."

18 years later, an Italian UFO study group visited Rosa Lotti and discovered a number of new details from this classic third-generation UFO encounter.

In the Flying Saucer Review, Sergio Conti stated that Rose did not feel fear when she saw these creatures. She became anxious later, when she had already fled. Rose started to run when the eldest of the two subjects took out what she thought was a camera: for some reason the woman did not want to be photographed.

Conti, commenting on the episode, noted that the presence of aliens appeared to reassure Rosa, which is consistent with other reports of alien contact. Most often, instinctive fears appear when the percipient1 begins to study an unknown phenomenon from the outside. However, the percipient rarely feels anxious while being around such “visitors”.

Many reports of encounters with UFO creatures fit into Conti's scheme. When the aircraft lands and aliens emerge from it, observers panic and may even be in a state of shock. But when aliens approach, bystanders often calm down, regardless of whether communication with aliens is through telepathy or verbal. When the aliens return to their spacecraft, fear takes hold of the witnesses again.

Such a formula "fear - calmness - fear" indicates that alien beings are able to transmit calmness to the percipient only from close range. Perhaps this is just the feeling that rather comes from the aura of this creature, and is not transmitted by telepathic messages. Many eyewitnesses flee from the place where the aliens appear as soon as they see a UFO landing - even if the aliens call them by name - and do not feel the peace that may come later.
