Until today, people with sound impairments using special hearing aids and special implants placed in the ear could not listen to music because of their problem. Scientists from Colombia have come close to solving this issue.
Experts at the Columbia Cochlear Implant Program found out the day before that there is a possibility of transforming musical works for people with hearing impairments. Information about scientific work became available thanks to the report of the publication Behavioral Neurology.
It should be noted that information is no longer transmitted to the brain of people with sensorineural hearing impairment, in which there are disturbances in the work of special auditory receptors of the human auditory system. In this regard, many patients who have previously resorted to the use of hearing aids decide on an operation to implant a cochlear implant in the ear. However, even with its presence, a person cannot listen to music, only the speech of other people.
This is why scientists at the Columbia Cochlear Implant Program are currently working on testing different kinds of arrangements in musical compositions, trying to amplify or attenuate certain sounds. This test is designed to find out which part of a piece of music is important for people with this type of hearing loss. Based on special research, specialists will be able to transform music for people with hearing impairments.
