In past years, it was believed that UFOs were being built in some sheltered place on Earth; were invented by "mysterious scientists", isolated from the rest of the world somewhere in the jungles of Africa or Brazil, who created secret factories there.
After many years of observing "flying saucers", this assumption has lost its meaning. To a modern person who knows that more than a hundred people are involved in the creation of one car, and more than 14 thousand people work to launch one Saturn-type rocket to the moon, such a hypothesis seems implausible. How can you hide the huge industrial facility needed to build UFO fleets without anyone discovering anything for decades? In the modern world, there are no "secret objects", since infrared imagery from satellites, magnetic sensing, etc., will quickly detect everything that is hidden from the public's curiosity. We, however, cannot claim that there have never been attempts to create terrestrial "flying saucers". At first such experiments were secret, but over time,these studies quickly gained prominence and are now widely written about.
As we have already said, the constant appearance of UFOs in the sky of our planet has led to the creation of various commissions to study them. On November 12, 1953, the Canadian government established Project Magnet, whose task was to study the problems associated with UFOs at a high scientific level, including the study of antigravity and its practical applications. Dr. W. Smith, one of the scientists who coordinated the commission's activities, said during a press conference that he and a team of experts were creating a flying disc that was supposed to move in the air, converting the potential of the magnetic field into useful energy. However, in the course of their work, they came to the conclusion that with the current level of scientific knowledge such an apparatus cannot be built, and this idea had to be completely abandoned.
The famous rocket scientist, Professor Hermann Obert, the "father" of the Apollo program, twenty years ago led the work of the UFO research commission in Germany. At a press conference in 1954, he stated that he and his colleagues came to the conclusion: UFOs “were created and controlled by highly intelligent beings; they fly due to the transformation of the gravitational field into energy. " Shortly after this announcement, a German specialist was invited to work in the United States to develop the American space program.
French captain Jacques Plantier published a book in 1955 in which he suggested that the air surrounding the UFO was exposed to artificial forces. As a result, a very thin air shell is formed, which eliminates the friction of the UFO walls against the surrounding air.
In his books, F. Edwards cites materials that testify to the high costs incurred by the authorities and various American firms in the course of an in-depth study of "anti-gravity forces." On the other hand, it is known that no less effort was made by Soviet scientists, who were carried away by a deep study of the foundations of the gravitational field.
Among the studies related to the appearance of UFOs, one can also name those that are devoted to the optimal shape of modern aircraft. One American aerodynamicist, Dr. M. Gerloff of General Electric, is very convincing in favor of the disc-like shape. Firstly, disk-shaped ships are well-controllable and allow flights both in the dense layers of the atmosphere and in the upper, rarefied layers. At altitudes between 30 and 350 km., Where neither aircraft nor satellites can penetrate, such devices could be used most optimally. Secondly, disk-shaped ships are beneficial from all points of view, including for space flights, as they are more adapted to vertical take-off and landing (Airspace Engineering, Jan. 1960).
Experts have repeatedly tried to create and experimentally test disk-shaped aircraft. At the American-Canadian factories AVRO in 1959, the first flying disc with a jet engine was designed. True, already at the very first trials, he failed, which forced the company's engineers to abandon the jet engine. Subsequently, the specialists designed a disc-shaped apparatus with screw motors - the “VZ-9” model. Alas, he also suffered a complete failure, since modern technology has not yet reached the level at which it is possible to translate the above theoretical principles into metal.

Various prototypes of disc-shaped flying ships were developed in other countries. On October 5, 1957, the newspaper "Sovetskaya Rossiya" published a drawing of a "plate" developed by Soviet specialists. It was designed in the form of a cabin with transparent walls above a flat hull equipped with a jet engine.
In 1967 prof. Moller of the University of California built a prototype disc-shaped twin-engined flying machine that he himself designed. Propelled by two propellers, it reached a speed of 200 km / h, with the ability to take off and land vertically. Of course, the ridiculous speed that this apparatus possessed led to the fact that Moller's "dish" remained the only one of its kind; moreover, to this day it continues to symbolize the huge technological gap between backward modern technology and real UFOs.
The Romanian inventor Henri Coanda, who became famous in 1910 when he showed a prototype of the world's first jet aircraft at an international exhibition in Paris, later discovered an interesting effect named after him. It was he who served as the basis for experiments with a prototype of the disc-shaped apparatus (A. Coanda called it "lenticular aerodyne"). In an article entitled "I Invented a Flying Saucer" (French magazine "Icarus" N 36, 1965), he told about the new principles of flight technology that he discovered. A year later, these ideas were described in a laudatory tone by Gilles Lambert ("Le Figaro", May 6, 1966), which again attracted the attention of the whole world to his proposals. In an interview given in 1967 to V. Firoy, the scientist answered in the most categorical way that he would soon build a new apparatus, thereby making a big step forward in modern flight technology. In 1969, the American Turner proposed a project of a disc-shaped apparatus with jet engines located around the entire circumference. True, nothing more was written about this model, since its equipment was already very complicated, and it added to the collection of useless inventions …
Obviously, all these attempts to borrow the optimal design form of alien ships could not provide us with an equally amazing flight technique based on modern engines. Its implementation will become possible only after the theoretical and experimental development of completely new principles and other technical concepts.
The gradually increasing number of UFO sightings has caused the amazement of all modern mankind. True, the lack of an opportunity to study them directly did not allow the scientific world to draw any objective conclusions and explanations that public opinion is seeking. The secrecy with which a number of countries have surrounded the UFO problem, has caused a variety of hypotheses and the formation of a kind of aura of mystery around it. Scientists from different countries, who believe that it is high time to start scientific study of UFOs, demanded that the UN organize UFO research at the appropriate international level ("Skynteya", August 4, 1968) It would be much more useful for humanity to enrich itself with new scientific and technical principles thanks to careful study of the messengers of the Galaxy, and not waste time and energy on their denial.
The reality of UFO visits forces us to get used to a much broader way of thinking, to adapt our minds to cosmic proportions. Everything suggests that we must abandon subjectivity and underestimation when studying the UFO phenomenon. It will take a lot of work, which, together with new scientific discoveries and technical advances, will constantly bring closer understanding of the principles of UFO functioning that are currently inaccessible to us.
The appearance of a UFO in the sky of our planet is an invitation, a cosmic appeal addressed to earthly humanity. Now that the "keys" have been found that will allow humanity to penetrate into the huge palace of the Cosmos, earthly civilization has gradually discovered the fact that it is not the only civilization in the large stellar family of our Galaxy. We are just beginning to realize more and more clearly that the UFO problem in the future will be the main problem of our time.
