A video was leaked on the Internet, filmed in a Hindu temple in southwestern India near Kumta, Karnataka, dedicated to the goddess Kamakshi Devi.
A group of believers gathered in this temple that day to undergo the so-called "test of faith" rite.
The ceremony consists in carefully dipping both bare hands in boiling oil, and then also scooping it up with your palms along with a fried wada snack.
And stay after that without burns.
According to the press, this video was filmed on October 24, 2018. The Hindus are lined up in front of a cauldron of boiling oil in which wada is being fried.
Each of the men walks over to the cauldron, picks up palms full of liquid boiling oil and snacks, and drops it onto a wide metal dish held by an assistant. After that, he steps aside and a new subject approaches the cauldron.

All this is accompanied by the ringing of a bell and it is reported that none of the Hindus had even the slightest burns on their skin. Later, pulled out of boiling oil, "vada" was presented to the statue of the goddess as a ceremonial treat.
According to believers, if you go through this ceremony, then the goddess Kamakshi Devi will see their courage and devotion to her and help solve their problems. The ceremony takes place every year in October, when the full moon appears in the sky.
A local government spokesman says that there has never been a situation where anyone has suffered during this ceremony. He thinks it is because people put their hands in butter very quickly.
