The couple live “without food” and claim to survive by eating only vegetable broth or fruit several times a week.

Akahi Ricardo, 36, and Camilla Castello, 34, who live between California and Ecuador, said they have forgotten what hunger is and believe that people can feed exclusively on "energy that exists in the universe and in itself."

The mother of two children, Kamila, even practiced "Bratarian pregnancy" when she ate solid food only 5 times in 9 months while carrying her first child.

“With my first child, I practiced a Bratarian pregnancy. Hunger was an unfamiliar feeling for me, so I fully lived in the world and did not eat anything,”the woman says. "My blood tests during all three trimesters were flawless and I gave birth to a healthy baby boy."

“People can easily be without food - if they are connected with the energy that exists in everything and through breathing,” says Kamila. With Breatharianism, I feel healthier and happier than before. When I was younger, my weight changed, but now, after two children, my body immediately returned to its natural shape. I no longer suffer from PMS symptoms and feel more emotionally stable."

"For three years, Akahi and I haven't eaten anything at all, but now we sometimes eat in social situations or when I just want to taste the fruit."

Kamila and Akahi met in 2005 and got married three years later. While traveling in South America in 2008, a friend introduced them to Breatharianism. After that, the couple slowly switched from vegetarian to raw vegan, and then simply started eating fruit before the "21-Day Breatarian Process."

During this process, in the first 7 days, people do not consume anything except air, in the next 7 days they drink a little water and diluted juice, and in the last 7 days they drink diluted juice and water.

“It made us explore the breath and its presence in our lives, showing us that we can easily go without food as long as we have air,” says Akahi. "I used to eat a lot, but after this process I haven't felt hungry since 2008."

The couple now eat 3 or 4 times a week "at best," but say they don't practice Breatharian for their 2 children.

Akahi said, “We never try to change them and we let them eat whatever they want, be it juices, vegetables, pizza or ice cream. We want them to experience different tastes and develop a healthy relationship with food as they get older.”
