In recent years, more and more information has appeared about the so-called "chemtrails" or "chemtrails". But scientists categorically reject the veracity of this theory.
By understanding how certain physical and chemical processes work, one can easily explain the lack of credibility of the evidence for the existence of large-scale secret programs to spray chemicals into the atmosphere using aircraft. This is the conclusion reached by scientists from the Carnegie Institute, the University of California at Irvine and the non-profit organization Near Zero in the course of testing the hypothesis of "chemtrails", or "chemtrails."
Some groups of people mistakenly consider the bright extended condensation trails behind the aircraft as part of this program. Conspiracy theorists sometimes attribute the spraying of chemicals to the government, sometimes to industrial structures.
In a 2011 international study, nearly 17% of respondents said they believe the chemtrail theory is true or partly true. In recent years, many sites have appeared that talk about the widespread use of secret chemical spraying, which negatively affects humans and the environment.
The authors of the study conducted a survey among the world's leading experts in the study of the atmosphere. All of them categorically rejected the veracity of such a theory. The team's findings, published in Environmental Research Letters, are based on a survey of two expert groups: meteorological chemists, who specialize in the study of condensation trails, and geochemists who work on atmospheric pollution.
In the end, 76 of 77 survey respondents said they had never come across evidence of a secret spraying program and agreed that the alleged evidence offered by those who believe in chemtrails could be attributed to typical airplane condensation trail or poor data sampling.
“The experts we interviewed unequivocally rejected the chemtrail photos and test results as evidence of a large-scale conspiracy,” said Stephen Davis of the University of Irvine.

Despite the persistence of erroneous theories about atmospheric chemical spraying programs, the scientists note, there has so far not been any peer-reviewed scientific research showing that conventional airplane contrails are mistaken for chemtrails, which are increasing as the number of flights increases. In addition, it is possible that climate change is the reason for their longer existence in the air.
They do not hope to convince those who believe in the secret conspiracy, but rather intend to establish scientific truth to inform the public, the research team said. “We wanted to show what the real experts in this field think. It is not in our power to shake those who firmly believe in the myth of secret dispersal, but we have given enough objective facts."
