Everyone knows about the Baalbek megalith, about the statues of Easter Island, about polygonal masonry with huge stones in India, Japan, America, no doubt these are amazing objects! They fascinate with their incomprehensibility … how is this done? There are a huge number of versions - both geopolymer concrete and a plasma (laser) cutter and the gods did it and aliens! There are also very unusual objects that many have seen but do not pay much attention to - these are cut mountains!

Here is the well-known Inkerman in Crimea - the land of winemaking and rock monasteries! Why did I combine winemaking and monasteries located in rocky grottoes that hardworking monks have hollowed out for millennia? But because the wine also lies in the caves of the "ancient", which stretch for many kilometers under Inkerman!

Take a good look at this photo (fortunately, it is signed) this is the same Inkerman … but look carefully at the rock wall - you can clearly see the traces of a mining machine on it!

This is also in the same place! Is everything considered very ancient? Who did this? monks with a bronze chisel?

These are the oldest quarries in the glorious city of Syracuse from where, apparently, the stone was transported for the construction of antiquity

And this is the modern quarry of Inkerman! What is the difference? And the fact that there is no equipment and how difficult it was to imagine - the scale of ancient developments is more serious!

Previously, these were quarries, but now they are very ancient rock towns or monasteries! However, the traces of the work not of the chisel, but of the machine are clearly visible!

This is how the poor monks who dug up the mountains probably looked!
