Lake Kara-Kul is located in the Vysokogorsk region of the Republic of Tatarstan, in the vicinity of the village of the same name. Rumors that the local brother of the Loch Ness monster lives in the reservoir has existed for a long time, but only the Cosmopoisk expeditionary group decided to check them.

As it turned out, there is a legend about Su Ugez - a bull-like water snake, which foreshadowed fires and other hardships in the village with its appearance. Some local residents claimed that they had heard his low cry more than once, and one old-timer admitted that he once saw a strange creature from afar. According to him, it resembled a hybrid of a snake, a fish and some kind of animal.

An interesting fact is that legends about snake-like monsters are not uncommon in these parts: the lakes of Ozynby and Elan-er also have a similar glory. By the way, both reservoirs are located only a few kilometers from the Kara-Kul Lake, and this can hardly be called a coincidence.

Some archival records can tell us about an unusually large snake scales found in 1963 near the village of Kara-Kul. Perhaps, at the root of the myths about an unusual lake creature are very real facts, but whether the creature has survived to this day is unknown. Although to this day you can meet superstitious people here who do not want to swim in these lakes, so as not to tempt fate.
