Unlike its many "colleagues", the UFO near the military airfield in Titograd not only did not try to act covertly, but actively provoked the pilots.
Against the background of numerous stories about the encounters of Earth inhabitants with unidentified flying objects (UFOs), the testimony of the former commander of the Air Force and Air Defense of Yugoslavia, General Zvonimir Yuryevich, looks rather unusual: the "flying saucer" was clearly trying to "play" cat and mouse with military pilots.
In 1975, Yuryevich headed the 172nd Aviation Regiment, located at the airfield in the city of Titograd (now the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica). It is noteworthy that, for a number of reasons, this regiment had more annual flying hours than other regiments of the Yugoslav Air Force - 12,000 against 2,000. That is, the unit was not just combat-ready, but one of the best in the country.
As Yurievich said in an interview with Sputnik, the first meeting of the pilots of his regiment with a UFO occurred in early January 1975, during a night flight. Then the "saucer" was introduced into the battle formation of the aircraft:
“The object looked like a luminous ball, very visible, maybe ten times brighter than the brightest star at that moment. The color was constantly changing: white, yellow, light red, orange, white again, and so on. He appeared out of nowhere, unexpectedly. He deliberately drew attention to himself."
Even Soviet MiGs could not keep up
This behavior was repeated several times: the object always appeared 50 minutes after the start of the Yugoslav aircraft. The departure time was even deliberately shifted, but the object still paused at exactly 50 minutes - and appeared.

On January 25, 1975, Yuryevich decided to intercept the guest. And again - exactly fifty minutes after takeoff, the object appeared over the city of Cetinje, but when Yuryevich went to him, headed for Budva - and disappeared. This game lasted several days and each time Yurievich reported on what was happening to Belgrade.
According to the former military pilot, the UFO strictly maintained the distance between itself and the aircraft - about ten kilometers. “He didn't let me come closer. I slow down - the distance is maintained. I add - it's the same ten kilometers anyway,”Yurievich recalls. Even when two supersonic Soviet MiG-21s arrived from Belgrade, even they could not come close to the "ball", much less catch up with it.
What happened in the skies over Yugoslavia in 1975 is still a mystery. The experts who arrived did not come to any definite conclusions, but from other bases they began to call Yuryevich and either jokingly, or mockingly ask, they say, you heard that you are chasing someone, are you not witches. In the end, the commander ordered his pilots to ignore the object, which last appeared here on February 12, 1975.
“I prepare for takeoff, sit in the cockpit, and suddenly - again shine and the object goes straight to the airfield. And at the airport there were a hundred and fifty people. Everyone even screamed. And I see him, but I pretend not to see, because I ordered to ignore him. The squadron commander jumped up - they say, here he is! And I say, no, I don't see anything."
Since then, the “Adriatic wanderer” has never appeared again, says Zvonimir Yuryevich, who remembered the strange games of the “flying saucer” in the sky of Yugoslavia for life.
